  1. I'd agree if it was BU or Harvard, but BC is in the suburbs, if not technically then at least by neighborhood feel.
  2. If Duluth wins it all, asterisk applies. Anyone else, not necessary.
  3. Makes sense. I was shocked to see it, but if his ankle was broken it explains his skipping a few strides.
  4. Blake with a horrible backcheck and it winds up in his team's net.
  5. Not sure how it is now, but during the oil boom they were handing them out like candy on Halloween.
  6. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2021/04/02_Into-the-Great-Wild-Portal.php A tidbit here is that the school can offer extra scholarships than the 18 maximum to 5th year players that stay at the same school. Tuition waivers, TA roles and departmental scholarships can hopefully help out with this over the next 4 years. Assuming we have anyone play extra years. Senden is hopefully interested.
  7. Duluth also was moments away from first round elimination when Bowling Green had an own goal to tie it up late in the 3rd in 2018. Sandelin coaching had nothing to do with that.
  8. They all left the program in better shape than they found it, best of luck to them. Hopefully Pinto doesn't spend next year in the A.
  9. Seems like there are fewer signings this year, did the unorthodox NHL and AHL seasons result in any perverse incentives to stay in school another year? Lower cap, roster freezes, etc.?
  10. Somewhere in the rafters at Amsoil there's an aging, sneering photo of Sandelin, Dorian Gray style.
  11. This is nice to have the rationale behind it when word gets out rather than speculation.
  12. You'd think grad students could get set up with a TA gig to get them a scholarship outside of hockey.
  13. If it was truly public, he wouldn't be the only one reporting it. He has a source letting him know. By team I meant the individuals on the team, not the entity itself, should have clarified.
  14. UMass is also public rather than private, which is a bigger deal out east. Private schools in New England lobby to decrease funding to public universities much like how U of M system lobbies to decrease funding to MNSCU system. With most of the successful east coast schools being private, it brings an undesirable exclusivity to college hockey.
  15. Thanks for helping your fellow fans that cut (or never had) the cord.
  16. Other than the sioux game my bracket was perfect. Blah
  17. Duluth fans shouldn't be taken seriously unless they are Duluth locals. My high school in suburban MSP sent more kids to UMD than any other college; we referred to it as University of Minnesota - <high school name>. Most of them rooted for UMD when they attended, then reverted back to the Gophers when they moved back to the cities. Now they've gone back to rooting for UMD after the recent success. They'll be off the bandwagon the next time they hit a lull.
  18. When did they stop serving alcohol? Was wondering if it would get to the point where their license doesn't allow service after 11 pm or something like that.
  19. At this point I would root for the Gophers to win it all if their opponent was Duluth.
  20. His luck won't work at the NHL level in a 7 game series. If he's honest with himself he'll stick around the college game.
  21. Wouldn't be surprised if Blaisdell enters the portal. He's snake bitten here. Some proven transfers are a must to make up for massive losses up front.
  22. Curious if people come back that wouldn't have otherwise. Was a fun ride while it lasted
  23. Just gotta shake your head and say it was a good game.
