If you have ESPN+ the 1st intermission of the Knights game has Berry and Powers side by side in an interview. Spliced in probably 2 dozen UND fans in the stands too.
-
Saw some kelly green in the stands during the Ducks-Knights pregame coverage.

Was it Gersich who called out a specific poster on here?

Hopefully both of the Ness brothers dress in the game.

It's been a while, but thanks to some technical help from AlphaMikeFoxtrot, here's Saturday's game against Gofer. Enjoy!
The best part is at 1:02:xx when they are saying "that's not a face mask!" as Kunz's cage is completely sideways.

Absolutely true that the extra year and transfer portal has provided opportunities for players and programs alike but I am not sure it has anything to do with the point at hand. The 2015-16 National Championship team from UND had about 8 Canadians with 3 of them 23-24 years old. Transfer portal and extra year came after that years after that. UND has a formula that is within the rules and has provided great success but it is not new or a result of those things mentioned. I am not sure why everyone is so defensive. I only pointed out the reality that the perception of Gopher fans is based in fact while the Gophers have ONE Edina kid but acknowledge Eden Prairie and Wayzata are also represented which isn't really any different that Edina.
I'm not defensive, just showing the other side of the coin. Southwest metro was probably a better term, but you understood my point.
Incidentally, two of the best Canadian overagers in NCAA right now are former recruits who switched after we pushed back their arrival. Rizzo and Halliday. We just have the policy/ability to make kids wait until they are dominating juniors before they come, regardless of where they are from.

While that take is a bit overdone by Gopher fans the perception is understandable. The average college senior is 21.5 or so. ND has 15 on the roster over the age of 22. Of the 7 Canadiens on the roster the average age is 22 with two of them being 24. The average age of the top 5 scorers for ND is 22.5 wiht 2 of them from Canada that are 23 and 24 years old. The average age of UMTC's top 5 scorers is 20 with two of them being 18 which is a age ND does not even have on its roster nor is there a skater on the UM roster that is from Canada. Does ND have a roster loaded with 24 year old Canadiens? No. Does ND have the success it has had over the years without overaged players coming from various places including Canada? Also no.
Everyone of ND's players is legal, within the rules and 100% a valid player but let's not pretend there isn't a basis for the perception.
Until the 5th year of eligibility cycles out, average age is skewed. And if you're a top program not picking up hired guns out of the portal with the 5th year, your loss.
UND is all overage Canadians, and MN is all divas from Edina. Neither is true but both have an undeniable presence in the lineups.

Here's a thought. Since these teams don't play in 24-25, and new rules allow the exhibition game to be against fellow NCAA teams, they should schedule one another that way. Get it done Bob and Bubs!

Interesting. I wasn’t aware UND was in the running for Cooley.
Thomas, Chesley and Cooley were all between UND and MN. Then all three took penalties in a row after the tossed stick. Karma, poetic justice, etc.

In the meanwhile, this pairs great with the Benny Hill theme

Cruikshank's success at St Cloud should be cited to recruit against the Gophers. He was forced to play bottom 6 wing there when he's a top 6 center.

Starting the backup was a head scratcher, Motzko has some of that Lucia arrogance in him. The "best D in the country" didn't do the goalie any favors though.
The announcers were wrong about so many things all weekend. Yes, it's nowhere near the biggest show in town, but there's gotta be better talent available in a major metro area.
In the articles leading up Motzko said something about not watching the tapes, already knowing how North Dakota plays. Whether or not this was tongue in cheek, it showed on our PP because they had no idea to smother Gaber like seemingly every other team figured out.
@Blackheartif you want my log in for Big Ten Plus to put these on your channel, let me know. Two instant classics, not quite the lore of "the timeout game", but the four minutes following the stick toss should be immortalized on YouTube for generations to come. Pitlick is going viral, just not in the way he thought he would. There was probably a ~35% chance it'd be a Sioux fan that caught it, and sure enough.

That hit on Schmaltz was so much more dangerous than Kleven's.

Get more shots on this goalie.

Looks like the ice is not improved over last night.

What's the home/away factor for pairwise? 0.8/1.2 or 0.9/1.1?
EDIT: per Brad's tweet it's 0.8/1.2

That was a fun game to watch despite the outcome. Gophers are more talented and will be scary good when they gel better. DeRidder kept us in it and was the player of the game, but the Gophers took a lot of shots he had clean looks at; don't let the shot differential fool you. All-time bad call against Blake, Chesley slipped like EVERYBODY ELSE did tonight with how shoddy the ice was.

Schmaltz timed his fly-by screen perfectly on Gaber's shot.

if i buy big 10 plus (one school being gophers)...for 10 bucks i'll be able to watch this game and tomorrow?
Both games are listed as available through the site/app, and it says only games on Big Ten Network (which neither game is) are blacked out.

James sitting is surprising.

RIT has some players with awesome names. Too many to list here, just look at their roster.
