Thank you whoever used my Lyft referral code last night.

Anyone have a link to highlights?

Awaiting the public apologies from the officials after that last game. Hopefully that resilience carries over.

ESPN put the delayed penalty graphic up assuming that was a penalty on Terry

Berry's better go "HAVE ANOTHER DONUT" on these refs after the game

Cam looks dialed in. That was the biggest concern coming into the game. Let's get some make up calls.

Duh. A school with like 8,000 undergrads is probably not filling an 80,000+ football stadium with just alums. Wouldn't compare it to Duke basketball. Notre Dame would be more comparable to the Yankees.
Have you ever been? It's driving distance from a 10 million person metro where their biggest alumni base is. I was referring to the fans in MN with no regional ties or anything like that.

I went to a ND/UMN game a couple years ago. There weren't thousands of Irish fans there or anything but there were plenty. Probably the most "national" fanbase in collegiate athletics.
Most of whom likely have no ties to the school beyond watching them on television. My brother in law is ND alum and says the majority of ND fans he meets are bandwagon. Akin to rooting for Duke in basketball.

McFeely must think this is our year if he is trying to inspire togetherness rather than his usual dichotomous drivel.
Key points he fails to make/is flat out wrong about:
1) hockey is regional? Youth hockey enrollment is up everywhere, especially non traditional markets. In the meanwhile, small towns are combining football teams to field enough players if not folding entirely. Also, I take it he doesn't have a passport. Hockey is played all over the world, football is only played here. Football isn't played at the Olympics, nor is there any sort of world championship. North Dakota has more in common with Canada than Cali/Florida, two of the biggest producers of football talent.
2) No mention of the accessibility of hockey. North Dakota's oil boom allowed people unable to afford to put their kids through hockey the chance. Socio-economics play a big role in who plays hockey. See: JJ Watt. Also, LeBron James could be a pro football player. Hockey? Maybe after a few years of skating lessons he could play high level beer league.
3) NDSU has recent success, but no long term tradition. Also, NDSU players in the NFL are the exception, not the rule. Anyone touting the NDSU stepping stone to the NFL will get laughed at (at best). UND has alum that are marquee players on multiple NHL teams. Wentz has the potential to be one, but so did Ryan Leaf and Johnny Football.

So its 10 free rides up to $5 each apparently.
Not with referral code. It's free up to 20 first time then 5 off the next ten rides.

Also If you have a capital one quicksilver credit card you get 20% off on uber

Do i need a code?
Yeah, Michael3718 is my referral code. Enter it under free rides or payment, can't remember which.

Just like crack..... first one is free.

If anyone hasn't tried Uber yet. It's a great service. And the first ride is free....and if you use my code: lanceh186 you also will give a Sioux fan $10 in credit too.....I think parking runs around $15 - $20 near the arena.
You beat me to it for Uber. Tampa has Lyft as well.....here's a Lyft code for a free ride: Michael3718. They are essentially the same thing, although local gov't in Tampa recently dropped their lawsuit against Lyft (but not Uber).

On a totally different subject, it will be interesting to see who applies at Nebraska Omaha.
Given Blais' age, and the lack of an heir apparent coaching elsewhere who would come "home", I think a lot of the NCHC/WCHA/Big Ten assistants have this job on the radar, as a stepping stone to a high-profile head coaching job in a couple years.
Any buzz?
Not buzz, but I would wager Omaha Lancers coach/gm Brian Kaufman is applying. Up and coming college coach, captained Miami the year they blew it against BU in the final. Hill Murray alum (boo). 21 year old walk on (presumably) barely getting ice as a freshman to captain as a senior shows character. Coached in the USHL prospects/all star game or something like that. Remember his name for a decade from now, he'll be in the NCAA somewhere.

Probably not. If you plan to fly American, you can hold a ticket for up to 7 days for around $10. They offer a free 24 hour hold and that's what I did after UND beat Northeastern. I know Delta has a 24 hour risk free cancellation policy so you could buy your ticket the day before the Denver game and cancel it if UND loses.
American literally just did away with the hold policy a few days ago.

We wouldn't necessarily bring him in straight from U-18.

Kristo is one of those guys that plays a top 6 game, but doesn't have NHL top 6 skill...he needs to bring something other than speed and a good shot. With 30 NHL teams, there are only 120 top 6 wing jobs out there, and everyone can play...If you assume that NHL age is really only about a 12 year span from 20-32 with outliers on either end, that means you have to be one of the 10 best scoring wingers in world your age (averages again)...now factor in what hand your shot is, and while you can play your off-wing, most don't...Danny is that guy who might end up crushing in the KHL...he's right at that bubble. See Brandon Bochenski...
He probably can't get by on D based on skating ability alone anymore either. Seemed like on the PK his mind was on getting a shorty. I was just trying to think of someone who may have the thought in the back of their head they should have left earlier. Can't really think of anyone else. Glad to see Rowney have success as a pro as his drop off in production his Senior year likely hurt his first contract.
-
Kristo probably should have left after his junior year. He had nothing left to prove and wasn't gonna win the Hobey because of his reputation. But had he left the team likely wouldn't have made the tournament that year. Still can't believe he hasn't gotten his cup of coffee at the show.

Melrose knows the game. Buccigross notices the penalty being called, and waits for Barry to say what it was. He's usually spot on. I could be giving Melrose the benefit of the doubt though. Can't stand Bucci for color, but I appreciate his enthusiasm for the niche he carved out for himself. Has a good grasp on social media and tacky phrases those dang kids use these days.

Melrose will rave about us and Bucci will man crush on BC? Definitely got that flipped. Bucci knows the college game way more than Melrose and is consistently talking about us Twitter. Melrose could have very well been delivering felatio to Alex Tuch and Jerry York during the NE regional with weekend.
Melrose always picks UND to go distance when they ask for the expert picks. Buccigross panders to our fanbase on Twitter but come game time shows his eastern bias. The enthusiasm for Tuch was certainly over the top, but didn't match the Buccigross vocal inflections every time he said Eichel last year.
-
Melrose will definitely rave about us. Buccigross will in the semi but if we play Boston he'll man crush on their draft picks and forget about ours.
When Cohen announced their starting lineup of TJ Compher and Alex Motte it was clear what to expect.
-
hmmmm. Bible College vs.MNSU-D. Hard to root for either.

They are openly lusting over Tuch

Q still has some self-doubt in their minds as they think back to us ending their season last year in front of a partisan crowd. Hopefully they get deja vu in a hurry.
