  1. Oddly silent from the peanut gallery about the Great Ed Schafer trying to limit these retro brands. Could you imagine the uproar if it was Kelley? *I think its great, UND is releasing these and should just do it unlimited and with everything as before with a small "Dacotah Legacy" logo. But Ed doesn't seem to want that. ......1310 am this morning. lady put her $2 sioux shot glass on ebay. Went for $40....Wonder what my etched circle mirror diameter of 24" (Brien logo, "university of north dakota, and Home of the Fighting Sioux" REA center ice style) retail $300 would go for?
  2. What is the stat? Duluth is 1-9 vs top 10 or 20 in college hockey this year? One of these years we'll get together in Denver, I'll bring Grant and Dave. See ya in Tampa though, flights a few weeks ago were under $200 from Minneapolis nonstop roundtrip!!
  3. Not in my DNA. ....trolling the hockey team (and the fans) upcoming if they play like they did last weekend upcoming.... "Eyes wide shut"
  4. Found the Bisons Fargodome players lounge. If you are curious: https://issuu.com/fmspotlight/docs/bi_nov15_final_w_poster Go to page 57-58 of 150 pages (wow that's a lot of pages for one months magazine)....its pretty amazing looking at there backlog issues (Not afraid to admit I'm jealous). *I'm working in the BSA right now, and doing a google search sent me to that link. The BSA is bigger than it appears, not necessarily the arena side (to see what it currently looks like go to a few pages back from 57) but all the offices, weights, locker rooms arena....its not even close to being done to make any comparison yet.
  5. Wasn't there a sort of "sioux illustrated" back in the day I remember around the time of the new Ralph? Musta also ran out of "resources"....seems to be a trend at UND...wonder where all these resources are going? Or was it UND is waiting til they "aren't crappy" to start more marketing?
  6. Update: I asked Jayson via Twitter. He said they do at Memorial but no photos. I only recently (accidentally) ran into the NDSU one online...its in Bison Illustrated pdf so Its no easy to link to. Its decent, but no UND mens hockey (but few college sports do) and realized/curious I had never seen UND's.
  7. I understand that, but pointing out that one of the most basic recruiting tools in college athletics appears to be missing from UND football for over 15 years? Plenty of former players on this site to give some insight...
  8. I guess UND doesn't have a players lounge. Guess UND needs a lot more than just marketing.
  9. Literally the million dollar question, http://bismarcktribune.com/news/state-and-regional/extra-revenue-vacant-positions-solve-und-budget-shortfall/article_f0ccb39d-82ba-5074-9bfb-ee9a1f97d291.html Whats the odds the Herald does some investigating? Or does one have to wait for Rob Port again?
  10. Good question Fetch. Too deep for me to know the answer to.... Take care of yourself. Life is short. Don't make it any shorter. Your grandson isn't going to learn all these "random musings" without you.
  11. Correct.
  12. Discuss.
  13. Its a big series...he's waiting for gfhockey to start it.
  14. You're catching on.
  15. No. The food has always been average. Some years new menu items will be added and liked. Some years not so much. But my goal is to let people know we are an option for them that evening. And hopefully a few will pick a menu item they like and eventually become regulars. And those regulars will spread the word, thus increasing sales and the need for less marketing. Ya all graduated from college?
  16. My new restaurant hasn't won any awards and very few people show up. I'm going to wait til I get it gets busy and then start marketing.
  17. Only market when you're a good team? That makes zero sense.
  18. Hey man, I'm just towing the company line. What's his name, jayson?, he said the reason for canceling the show was "resources."And that was when cash was growing in the ground... I think I read they were going to cut a million for the athletic budget.
  19. Another marketing opportunity, continue this series: The Athletic Department already knows these things. They just don't have any money to do them. I don't expect the promotions and marketing to increase anytime soon, especially with budget cuts.
  20. Does UND Football have a "Players Lounge"? I'd have to assume so, I've seen plenty of the Ralphs, seen the Betty's, and the Bison have a pretty nice one in the Fargodome. Never seen a picture of UND's.
  21. Looks similar to my powerpoint slide show presentations in High School.
  22. Does one cheer for Denver so more NCHC teams will be more likely to make the NCAA tournament? Also helping UND's PWR.
  23. Also available to everyone in the Red River Valley. The XTRA channel can be found on channels 29 and 1029 for Cable One subscribers and channel 596 for Mid-Co subscribers. It can also be found on Channel 6.3 on the antenna.
  24. I think you nailed it: more bars is about it. Those same bands stop in GF or Fargo: Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Boyz II Men (), Alan Jackson, Justin Bieber, James Taylor, Rob Zombie, Foreigner are just a few of the upcoming bands to the RRV.
  25. This has always been the worlds dumbest argument. 11,500 in a town of 60,000 = 19% of the "metro" at a hockey game. 30,000 (sold out Xcel Energy Center & Mariucci Arena) in a town of 700,000 (that's only of St. Paul and Minneapolis proper population) = 4% They would need an equivalent of 133,000 people at a hockey game or sporting event. What are all these people doing?* *HS hockey games? Like those aren't also going on in Grand Forks? There really isn't "that much to do" in Minneapolis/St. Paul on a regular basis that isn't available in the RRV. If 19% of the actual entire metro of 3.5 Million went to a Gopher hockey game, Maricucci would have to hold 665,000. Its laughable a town that large can't find 10,000 fans every night to go to a hockey game...especially when you consider their student body at the University of Minnesota has more people than the entire town of Grand Forks.
