  1. Times have changed in football: https://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/05/upshot/4th-down-when-to-go-for-it-and-why.html
  2. Please. The schedule isn't that tough. No FBS games. Just NDSU. Play Drake. Sam Houston at home who UND already beat this year. EWU didn't make the playoffs last year. Who knows how good they'll be. Every other team has its ups and down. It's the Big Sky not the Pac 12.
  3. The possibility of "pinning" NAU within the 20 is probably the same as getting the first down on that 4th. Therefore you have to assume you just told NAU "here's the ball 30 yards back from where we just had it." Assume the D forced a 3 and out and punts, 40-45 yards down the field. And the offense needs to go even further to score a touchdown in a game which everyone admits knows the offense had trouble moving the ball....or in layman's terms hoping to get back to where they were...and likely facing a 4th and short again just with less time on the clock. The statisticians will have told you going for the original fourth down would have lead to a greater chance of winning the football game. Edit: Not to mention they were down 8 points at that point ( "1.5 scores"). Which increases the desire to need to go for it on fourth down at this point in the game (7 minutes left).
  4. We have the first excuse of the 2019 football season.
  5. Well a lot of people here claimed to have wrote to the AD.
  6. How many teams did the MVFC get in?
  7. Good thing Bubba didn't play any d2 or less opponents this year or last. hence the Big Sky comparisons...Bubba just got to coach again after going 3-8 while Muss did not.
  8. Bubba didn't have to transition from D2 either. Of course it'll never be apples to apples, but Bubba has a lot more resources than Mussman did.
  9. Chris Mussman coached UND for six years. Bubba begins his 6th year tomorrow. Both finished 3-8 while in the Big Sky. also while in the Big Sky, Mussman finished 5-6 while Bubba finished 6-5. Bubbas best regular season was 9-2. Mussmans best was 8-3.
  10. ”More likely to score points on your team. Offense or Defense?"
  11. UND can easily avoid getting another Bubba next time by playing "what ifs" questions during the interview process next time.
  12. I thought bincitysioux post was sort of tongue in cheek, but I guess not:
  13. But that will continue next year as injuries caused UND to suck last year too. Can't wait for an anomaly year of having every key player healthy all season to finally be good.
  14. This team put up 40 point* for three straight games this year. Now they can't beat a crap NAU. Something smells fishy.
  15. It was odd. I had never really seen him go down so easily as I did this game. He seemed to have no fight today. On a few sacks it looked like he even went down before the defenders got to him. The anticipation was enough.
  16. This team looks like it has locker room issues the last few games. Night and day difference from mid season. Blowing out teams to losing to bad ones....same coaches...same players.
  17. Minus the first year (took over others coaches players), Bubba teams peaked his first two years and these last two have been bad. Not a good trend.
  18. Minus this last drive. You could argue UNDs defense only gave up 10 of NAUs 24 points.
  19. Not going for it on 4th Down is literally inexcusable. Bubba has a very low football IQ.
  20. His best skill set is cheerleading the team.
  21. UND finishes the season at 6-5.
  22. Coaches lost another game.
  23. Bubba (I got no) Ball(s)!
  24. Does Bubba know offenses usually score more points than the defense? And you need points to win the game.
  25. Commentators are surprised UND is punting....as is everyone but the UND coaches! Lol
