Fifth year players put a bulge in the recruiting pipeline that is hard to work through. Ponder: eight seniors, three early signees, and a portal departure. That's 12 to replace. That's too many "freshies" on a roster. UND got away with it this time because of Covid and the portal option to ... stealing a phrase "flatten the curve" of the bulge.

Jordan Kawaguchi's 24th birthday was last week. At that age, he wasn't coming back; if he did, the Moldin' Rodents fans would be right --> 24 year old Canadians!

The terms "senior" and "sophomore" have lost their meaning with this strange new world of "extra year", so I think I get what you're trying to say. It's like the roster should list "current eligibility year" or "eligible years after this season".
