For a stunning period of time, like 20 years starting in 1997, UND's season would end one of three ways: - loss to eventual national champion (one layer away) - loss to team whose season is ended by eventual national champion (two layers away) - as national champion (zero layers away) Last year was three layers away (to Mich, to BC, to DU) and that's as close as UND's been for a while..

I’d rather the coach respected than loved.

Like I said, the Sunday release to me signals something is afoot.

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

We weren’t keeping 4; there’s not more for him to learn at this level and he’s already playing 30+ minutes. 26 was playing for his ELC this season. 18 is a turnover machine that is light like a freshman. -
2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

If players leave because this coach (who wasn’t developing them) was released it tells me (a) the inmates were running the asylum and (b) the change was warranted and needed. -
A Sunday release sure does sniff that Chaves has wheels in motion. Color me stunned.

George “the dasher dancer” Gwozdecky!

We had enough old time hockey (dump and chase) with Bubs.

St C actually had the dumpster fire called Omaha (USHL) winning games. Chyz is a USHL GM (and UND Law grad).

It’s all but mandatory for a university HC.

Shireen, quit posting.

I’d keep KG before Dane.

You may return to your seat.

Search. Name. Clear the staff. New coach names his staff.

I was thinking Smaby who’s from MSP.

Does Hak (mid 50s) move the needle with 17 y/o recruits?
-
@gfhockey is lobbying for Sandy to UND.

How about a USHL coach that’s coached the US U17s twice?
-
The game has changed. WMU/DU last night should’ve made it obvious to anyone paying attention. UND must make a quantum leap to catch back up. This hire must be capable of that leap.

I believe I said something like this a month ago and a while before that ... but I also called for Smaby as HC.

Perron is a turnover machine. Swanson isn't much better. Both need to get stronger on the stick. UND would gain possession in their zone and then slow down to set the offense and giving time for WMU to set their defense. WMU would gain possession in their zone and go on the attack. The Berry Era difference summed up. I see Liv and Wiebe signing off the D. Beyond that is just rumor and speculation.
