I felt sorry for the (foot shorter) Minot defender trying to cover. It should've been PI in the end zone late in the first half.

NDUS Budget Cuts (changed name to be system-wide)
The Sicatoka replied to Cratter's topic in Community
It's good to know people who know people (i.e. my sources). It was an ugly week at NDSU, and it's going to get uglier when this biennium's Legislature opens. Cook wasn't kidding when he said this: https://www.wdayradionow.com/news/local-news/55848-even-bison-football-is-on-the-table-for-review-as-ndsu-president-david-cook The NDSU Engineering school had $942,000.00 lopped from their budget by the provost yesterday. Their Pharm school class is half the size (from ~100 to mid 50s) of just a few years ago. And that's before as I said, this Legislature. The ugly hits are still on the way. NDSU has some serious work to catch up on. Looking back Interim President Schafer and President Kennedy did some things that really upset people, but as it turns out they did pretty well for UND going forward. -
Given UND Hockey has been the region's exception since the late 1970s, and both NDSU and SDSU had declining enrollment this fall*, I'd go with what's worked. Earl Strinden (RIP) set up the UND Alumni Association and Foundation. Look at the good things that has done. Earl was part of setting up the REA fiscal organizations. I do not believe he did that in a manner to harm UND. (Words I never thought I'd type follow, because Earl besides being a UND backer was a politician) --- I trust what Earl Strinden left behind. *UND grew slightly.

When the top of your conference is the top of the country?

Seriously? Have you missed the news this week? Bresciani left Cook a hot steaming turd sandwich. You say "not fraught with concerns and controversy". Even ... < gasp > ... NDSU Football is under budget review. I say there's "concerns and controversy" at NDSU when the NDSU Engineering school had $942,000.00 lopped from their budget* by the provost yesterday. Their Pharm school class is half the size of just a few years ago. And the ugly hits are still coming. *it's good to know people who know people

UND football spending is top third of MVFC football spending the last five years. https://knightnewhousedata.org/reports/91ae0812 Where UND may lag, but is still mid-pack is football coaching salaries. https://knightnewhousedata.org/reports/21705f66 *I've included Murray State in the dataset.

Are there furries in Fargo and West Fargo schools? Yes. Litter boxes? No. (That makes it better?) From WDAY-TV: https://www.facebook.com/wdaytv/posts/are-there-furries-in-fargo-moorhead-schools-yes-but-no-litter-boxes-httpstribal3/10158649639873093/ How about we get back to ... is KNOX radio's website good for news, because it's not paywalled?

Aren't you one who doesn't trust any decision by the AD regarding hiring and firing? And then you want to give full autonomy to that AD over revenues and budgets as well? You believe UND should be doing things just like NDSU is the way you sound. Based on this pattern if we were at Duke you'd be railing BB was overemphasized to the detriment of FB. At Johns Hopkins you'd be calling out lacrosse as harming FB.

Goldie had been digging out of an own-goal to get back to a 3-2 game and then the defenseman blows a tire and gives OSU a second gift. I laughed, and then I realized after splitting UMn we need those fools to win the B1G.
-
Clown clowns Mankato twice last week and then gets clowned.
-
The preseason CCHQ POTY is a furry? Wow ... what a world we live in. I have questions.
-
6-2 … oh my. Thank you Mark Senden.
-
5-2 OSU; Close pulled for the guy that got pulled Sat v UND
-
OSU 4 UMn 2 after 2 Goophies have own goaled and had a goalie defense miscue behind the net to give OSU two goals so far.
-
OSU 3 UMn 1 midway through game.
-
What a fluke. He couldn’t make that same tip again with 100 tries.

The commercial the B1G is running on BTN (for the B1G championship game at Lucas) includes … a UND highlight! https://www.ispot.tv/ad/2ZQp/2022-big-ten-football-championship-indianapolis-lucas-oil-stadium Of course it’s Tommy getting sacked at Nebraska …
-
< ba-whoop ba-whoop > UPSET ALERT! tOSU leads UMn 1-0 after one. < ba-whoop > That Senden OT goal may be bigger than we know.
-
That's good, because Altru Health Systems and the Altru Health Foundation and Altru Alliance are non-profit 990 filers and you and I may need them one day.
-
But it opens them wide to audit and loss of tax exempt status. So they best live to the words in such a manner that a reasonable person could recognize it. Again, if there's a better way, please do define it.

Dizzo's projected bracket was just porn for his pleasure.

Yes, an entity which by its very existence, and by its public tax filings (Form 990), that exists "for the benefit of UND Athletics" (from Form 990). That entity can do things for UND Athletics that (State entity) UND Athletics can not do. As a private entity it can war chest monies for future endeavors, it can contract without public bid process, it can quickly add and reduce staff as needed without going through state hiring processes. And as a non-profit for the benefit of a university it remains tax exempt. And as a non-profit should they be shown to not be living up to their charter the IRS crashes in upon them. If you're saying it was set up all wrong by Ralph, and Earl Strinden, do tell how you'd do it better. PS - If you don't like 990 filers benefitting UND you must also hate the UND Alumni Foundation and the UND Aerospace Foundation.
-
Don't quote me, but top six in a 3-6 winner plays 2, 4-5 winner plays 1 format to give top two some advantage for winning during regular season. I believe Omaha hosts as last season's regular season champ.

There's very little televised college hockey tonight besides the Goophies < spits > and tOSU. I'd drive to Fargo and watch USHL but it's Sioux City with no UND recruits. Meh. Other good (free, yeah, I'm cheap) streaming options would be appreciated. Otherwise I'll be watching NDHS FB playoffs on BekTV. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/schedules/

BC scored first and gave up five unanswered.
