I'm beginning to realize why Saban got out when he did. The next 10 years in college sports is going to be very interesting.
Jeff Hafley left BC (FB HC) for NFL Green Bay (as DC). Reason? Portal, NIL, ...
He just wants to coach; can't blame him.

Hopefully they can address this portal issue at the next coaches meetings and find a solution, this could really shrink the game as we know it.
Oh for the days of people not living up to the "gentleman's agreement" being the big recruiting issue.
Today? Alford, NIL, portal, family advisors, ... dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria.

We really could use another right handed defenseman for next year though. Zmolek and Emery only ones.
I'm available but out of eligibility.
And I'd only come in if @Wilbur was in net.

1. Don't say the quiet part out loud.
2. Apple Gift Cards? You're a couple orders of magnitude low. -

Wouldn't this be a fun wrinkle to the transfer portal? NHL GMs directing their draft picks into the portal and onto a new team.
It'd surprise me none.

Is this the twins from a few years back? Is Joe the better of the two?

Looks like Snuggerud is back at Minnesota next year.
I'd thought STL would be after him to sign this year.

If you don't realize these "family advisors" are testing the waters for potential new teams for their advisees you're flat hopelessly naive.
Pohlkamp, Cook, any high-ender entering the portal knows the destination before the journey begins.

6'5"? Project out as WR or TE?

Isn't that sometimes referred to as the Jack in the Box?
Correct.
Get low, wait for contact from behind, spring up into it both surprising the "attacker" and giving them the worst of the contact.Jackson both missed the Woofie and caught a skate in the ice and fell back over his own right knee. Can't find it but TwiX had an image of Blake flat on his back but with his right skate boot under his right butt-tocks*, toe pointed away from body.

I'd say he does some things better than any of the three. But he's physically much less ready than any of them for playing against guys who are made of stone. He's most similar in build to Caggiula, but younger and not filled out yet. The other two had sturdy NHL frames, which he'll never have.
Jackson is lanky compared to his father who was more fireplug.
Stuff that would bounce off Jason puts Jackson on the ice.

Stonehill (12), NMU (11), and the Alaska schools are in a race for "most going to portal".

Serious injury?
The image I saw on TwiX looked ugly on that right knee. No official word from UND.

Which member of the CBS Line in 2016 is Blake better than today?
Better than Boeser was? Schmaltz? Caggiula?
Their games were NHL ready.
Can we say that about Jackson?
And his last second hijinx against Michigan only helps serve the point.

My portal predictions:
- UND won't be "most added from portal" this year (three, maybe four, but Merrimack is four already!)
- the Rink Live spreadsheet will have 300+ names by May -

...and if the Quinnipiac player could have put the puck into a wide open net, BC would be having their mass exodus right about now. That guy has got to be seeing that wide open net in his nightmares.
Gonna take a lot of MD 20/20 to wash that away.
Edit: I've been told this generation is just learning of the "mad dog" (and its associated evils).

I'd argue UND runs a roster where the 12 forwards on any given night are "average to plus two sigma" guys on the NCAA forward talent bell curve. You must be an average (or better) NCAA forward to get onto the UND ice.
Some teams dream of having a line card of just "NCAA average" much less better than average. Call it a valley surrounded by hills roster.
Others teams have a couple "plus four or five sigma" guys but a third and fourth line that is "average to minus one sigma" at best. Call it a "tall peaks and valley" roster.
By comparison UND runs a rolling plateau or a "rolling high plains" roster: Tops aren't mountains but the bottoms ain't Death Valley.

The 2020-21 season "never happened".
It counts as neither an eligible year nor a competition season under the NCAA "5 years to complete 4 seasons of competition" rule. That's why Gaber could come back.
Albrecht never stepped onto the ice in 2019-20 so it only counts as "eligible", not "competition". That's 1 and 0. 2020-21 never happened, Seasons ending 22, 23, 24 put Carson at having done 4 eligible and 3 competition. Thus he could play 2024-25; but, he also turns 26 in May. He's closer in age to Dillon Simpson (31) than the incoming freshmen Boisvert (18) and Swanson (18).
Thank goodness that this spring is the last group that the "2020-21 never happened" rule applies to. It's filling the portal with guys looking for one last kick at the can. Won't be like that next spring.

True, but we'd have to make sure his NIL and Alston awards don't put him over the income limits to draw his Social Security monthly payment.
