  1. Stack was concerned about centers. I think those would be: Genoway, McMahon, Spirko, Zajac, Kaip. (I think Murray and Stafford have centered at some point before UND.) Let's get shooting side into the mix and really confuse the issue. Left: Prpich, Porter, Murray, Fabian, Spirko, Marvin* Right: Bochenski, Canady, Fylling, Genoway, Massen, McMahon, Stafford, Kaip, Zajac * Looking at that list of defensemen, I think Lee will play as much wing as defense this year but the team will probably need him at defense in 2005 so you have to get him some games back there this year.
  2. PCM: UND's starting "left out".
  3. If I recall correctly, PCM was at Saturday's hockey press conference because he wrote a story for USCHO. I wonder who all from UND was there and who he may have talked to ... and about what ... Now I'm intrigued.
  4. Good rule to live by regarding TC: Don't mess with that Marine. I'm pretty sure he still has a pair of boots and will put them wherever they need to be (if you get what I'm sayin'). I think Toby Keith would put it, " ... it's the American way."
  5. They seem to be updating photos more frequently here: http://theralph.com/construction/
  6. I think being in an established conference like the WCHA makes that schedule look a lot better than it did when they were DI independents.
  7. Dale Lennon's bio: Asst. Coach - Defensive Line, University of North Dakota, 1990-96 Asst. Coach - Defensive Coord., University of North Dakota, 1997-98 Who was the UND head coach DL was under? Roger Thomas. Budgets: Last I saw for FY04 it was projected to be on target. I'm talking coming year (FY05) budgets being tighter. You're familiar with them, on the inside, yes? DamStrait: You have it Dam*Strait.
  8. "I see the things and take the things going on at UND very seriously!!!!!" You mean things like athletic programs being asked to live within tighter budgets just like every other department (athletic or non-athletic) at every other university? It happens in the private sector too: Reality of life. What else? PS - All the rest of us are here because we really don't care.
  9. Well PCM, it seems the "I'm clearly more enlightened because I say so, and you're wrong if you disagree or see things differently, then disappear" technique works in any context.
  10. Which part of it? The 8.0 scholarships? It was from an article in "Sioux Illustrated". What else?
  11. I state facts and yet get personally attacked. Interesting. However, your criticism of me seems to apply to yourself as well. PS - Roger Thomas is doing a good job.
  12. Taking vans versus a coach is maltreatment or mistreatment? (Why didn't the soccer team take a coach? Did the hockey, football, or basketball teams have it reserved already?) Having 8.0 scholarships in a realm where the DII max is 9.9 is maltreatment or mistreatment? You can't tell me the minor sport teams at Duke are treated the same way as the mens basketball team. Welcome to Realities of Life 101: Rainmakers get priority treatment and handling. If there's tunnel vision here there's more than enough to go around.
  13. " ... hair apparent ... " (Ba-dump-bump. Ting!) However, based on the look on the face of the third guy from the left in that photo, I wouldn't crack on him about his hair ... or anything else. Woe be to the HS boys who someday show up at his door to take his daughters to prom ....
  14. At the University of North Dakota, compared to mens hockey, football, and basketball (mens and womens), soccer is a minor sport. In comparison to football and basketball, show me a university where soccer isn't a minor sport.

I know that the private flyers (Fargo Jet Center, et al) have their space on the NE corner of the Fargo airport area, but I'd think they'd love to have their chance at the space the 119th is currently in also. In terms of "North Dakota: Empty space just north of 19th Ave N and University in Fargo would have a much better chance of recoving and providing economic value to the State (tax revenues) than would empty space a mile or so north of Arvilla.
  16. The assistant job is posted. Assumably it'll be posted for external applicants. (Who else internal is there to apply?) We know what the posting says, but what are Sioux fans looking for in a new assistant. Hak and Berry are Canadian defensemen. In the spirit of "diversity" I'd like to see: - an American - a forward - someone with UND ties (GF area and WCHA ties at a very minimum) - someone with strong USHL connections I'm sure Dave Hakstol is printing this right now to use this as a criteria sheet. What does the rest of the panel of experts think are important qualities for the new assistant?
  17. From UND's internal positions website:
  18. How else do you get to Omaha? Isn't the coach supposed to know his sport? Apparently, from reports here, the coach didn't think they would be a #1 seed. He's the expert. Who else should the AD believe? Last I looked, UND womens soccer has 8.0 scholarships (DII limit is 9.9). But yes, they have a big facilities issue. (I gave an idea on how to solve it earlier.)
  19. I believe PCM would put this into the "anybody can say anything" category. I would have to agree and think that UMary would have a much better go at NCAA DII than DSU would.
  20. UM-Rolla to the GLVC seems like a sweet deal for them (other than having to be a DII independent in football): Now the MIAA commences the search ....
  21. I know what I just read on Bisonville, but wouldn't you think something like "UMary exploring NCAA DII" would be somewhere on the UMary.edu website, somewhere? I couldn't find it there (not saying it isn't). Nor could I find anything of the sort on DSU's website.
  22. Spring GPAs: womens hockey picks up its GPA.
