  1. The reason I'd like a pure shut-down line is this: Nov. 13, 2004
  2. Considering the admin here is good enough to have directly links to each poll from the hockey page of the site http://siouxsports.com/hockey.php do we need this thread every week?
  3. Like my first post said, I'm looking for a shut-down line. McMahon, yes, Prpich, yes, Massen, history says no. Marvin would be a better choice. Kaip would be the best choice.
  4. Sparky-Zajac-Stafford seem to be meshing. Don't mess with the only hint of offense we've seen this year. Put Murray with Porter and Genoway and hope to get a second line going. The speed of Murray and Porter should get them some space for Colby to try to be a playmaker. Put McMahon back with Prpich (and Marvin?, I wish I could say Kaip) and task them with not letting the other team score within 90 seconds after we do. Put Canady, Fylling, and Massen together and hope for the best (and that's a pretty sad statement to make about three seniors).
  5. I've seen a half-dozen teams that could win it all if they are "on" and stink it up if they aren't.
  6. Control what's yours to control: Win.
  7. Remember, the emphasis this year is calling the rule book. Things like
  8. Weren't you expecting delays across the street from the game before the game at the hot new restaurant? I plan on eating at Suite 49 for the first time at a time when there is nothing going on at REA.

  10. Add a sport with some-teen additional grants for women and that fits within the existing structure and mindset of the school so as to ensure Title IX compliance down the road? Interesting concept, but it doesn't sound cheap. The way it could get better is if it had the potential to have some, any, level of payback at the turnstiles, like if you could play Big Ten schools, say Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Ohio State, in the sport.
  11. I saw a faint glimmer of hope last night: Drew Stafford was trying to go to the net and not pulling up and out at the dot. Take 'em to the net Drew. Lead 'em.
  12. Dear Referee Shep, I know they are big words, but the words are "obstruction interference." It happened right in front of you and you missed it ... with daddy, a.k.a. the WCHA head of officials, and a couple NCAA representatives watching. Don't worry, daddy will make it all nice-nice again. The no-call when Greene was clearly picked was despicable. Somebody please tell this team during pre-game warm-ups that they are down 2-0. It seems to be the only time they actually start to play. Keep giving the puck to Radke on the powerplay. He seems to know how to get a low hard shot on net. How many pucks were behind BSU goalies last weekend and behind Fisher last night that didn't go in? And the top of the net. Are you kidding me? I have to give credit to Mike Prpich: He had his helmet ripped off twice and yet stayed focused on the game, not payback. And how that puck didn't go in ...
  13. I believe you on the level of fundraising to be done; however, that doesn't answer the question: Even if the funds are raised, which womens sports will the dollars be spent on to meet the requirements of Federal law, namely Title IX? Is there room to "max out" the existing womens grants and be compliant or will a womens sport need to be added to make the grant numbers balance out men to women?
  14. I doubt it's copyrighted and the link is below.
  15. You've just about asked the same question as, "Can you explain the Federal tax code to me?" Try this out first: http://siouxsports.com/hockey/rankings/help/pwr.htm Then maybe: http://www.uscho.com/FAQs/?data=pwrexplanation And to see how it would be seeded if it started today: http://www.uscho.com/news/2005/01/31_009811.php
  16. That's one of how many awards?
  17. Hey, if folks want to live in delusional fantasies about former coaches coming back, why not have a good one: BringGinoBack!
  18. Didn't I hear that Glas had plant-leg knee surgery right after the season ended? Wouldn't plant leg problems cause a kicker some consistency problems? Back on topic, no disrespect intended to either, but Glas and Digger have about the same shot at being king of "The Hill". They don't play the "glamour" positions.
  19. Ferris State? Again with the old news?
  20. I find sagard's explanation the most plausible part of that entire conversation. PS - I'll go on record again: I'd like the next AD to have more administrative than coaching experience.
  21. LA Times? Very nice for Fargo. Did Fargo get featured in media in Canada, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, Germany, Russia, the Czech Republic, Belarus, and Switzerland recently for hosting an international ice hockey tournament? No, wait, that was Grand Forks.
  22. You mean like put the defenseman on his back, the puck on his stick, and take the whole load to the red pipe and stuff all of it, and the goalie, in the net? Where is that guy this year? Dear Sioux players: Please quit "pulling up" at the dot and looking for the pass. Take it to the red pipe and jam it home. If you miss the trailer will "pick up the garbage". Thank you.
