  1. I do, but I also try to wear them selectively. What I'll never have is yellow pants or socks, 'cause you know how you get those .... (whizz) ....
  2. That story seems more suited to coming from North Korea .... Would that pretty much make a "Ron McNeil (aka His Horse Is Thunder)" equivalent to a Kim Jong-Il?
  3. I have to ask .... I'm hearing $15-20 million for the indoor training facility. Seems a reasonable estimate. Putting in an outdoor track and soccer facility ... I'm guessing $3-5 million? The cost of a second ramp (a must if you lose parking to a soccer field) should be pretty easy: What'd the first ramp (west of Columbia Road) cost? $5-10 million? Anyone know the number? The question is: What does 25000 seat stadium with a football field and a retractable roof cost? I'm guessing that complex is $200 million at least.
  4. Ya'know, that's the most rational thing I've ever seen you post. I'm impressed. Back to this thread: I'll take Ryan C, Josh M, or even Tyler R, over any of these names. Why? They've proven they can do it for real. Beyond that it's a crapshoot. We've all seen "can't miss" end up as busts; we've all seen walk-ons become legendary.
  5. Clarified your post there. Like I said before, I want the "band members" not their "managers" to tell me their opinion. Let the tribe vote. If they choose to disregard the wishes of the tribal leaders in the 1960s, so be it. I will learn who they are by their actions. And I will respond accordingly.
  6. Dear TRex, Did you get permission from the British rock band to use their name? Did you get it in writing? Did they give it to you? Did you even ask? If not, you should stop. No, you must stop. Only that group can decide how their name should be used. You must stop. You must change. You are immoral if you do not. Their name is their name and you shouldn't use it for your personal entertainment. (Hopefully you're a student of irony and satire. If not, that just flew over your head.)
  7. He'd be competing with Josh Murray and Catlin Solum for time. I'm not too surprised either.
  8. What kind? Rice? Vegetable? Pasta? The kind you get at a coffee shop (steamed milk)? Dang, now I'm hungry as a horse .... DANG that "PCM"! He has horses on my brain too ....
  9. Ah, the path to retirement, or in his case ... Saigo-path.
  10. Two great quotes, one from each piece (in order): Myles Brand, David Gipp, and the rest of their ilk have an ambition ....
  11. Dear ND (and National) Media, In your idealistic pursuit of destruction of the "Fighting Sioux" moniker, you've lost sight of the only thing keeping you in business: The First Amendment. Destroy that, by demanding made up rights such as control of public domain words to select groups, and you threaten your own freedom and existence. And your co-conspirators in this are "academics", another group that should be defending The First Amendment, not tearing in to it. The irony here would be laughable if not so dangerously stark. Destroy free speech? Can't happen you say? Look north. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/printpage...mark_steyn.html Today's version of the Canadian "Human Rights Tribunal" is called the NCAA Executive Committee. And tomorrow brings another day, and another chip at the base of your right to exist. Enjoy, for when free speech and thus free press falls, I will not speak out for no one spoke for me. Signed, A "Fighting Sioux" fan (for as long as I can still legally say that)
  12. Because they're not adjoining states (that almost took your head coach a year ago)?
  13. If your recruiting is based on getting the other guy's wish list, how in the world do you keep any balance on your own roster? Your needs can't always match the other guy's needs. Sure you'll go head-to-head at times as common needs align, but not all of the time. As far as recruiting Montana, given the turmoil in Missoula and Bozeman right now finding a couple kids who want a stable program with no dark clouds hanging over it probably isn't too hard. And Lennon got some very positive press out there when he was a finalist for the MSU-Boseman job. Montana probably isn't a primary area, but if you can go in and cherry-pick while Montana and Montana State work through their legal and administrative issues, why not?
  14. There has to be a good NDSU cheerleaders joke in there somewhere ....
  15. For there to be irony you'd need to show me a pro-moniker person presenting research results as "unbiased". Forgive me for not respecting the work of an "academic" that doesn't know the word pedigree refers to a person's geneology or lineage (even though it is most commenly used in the realm of the American Kennel Club).
  16. I'd like the real voice of the Sioux people to be heard. No pundits. No axes to grind. Hold the on-reservation vote. Let them vote their future.
  17. Hey, Midco digital cable FCS-Central (Ch 316) is running Minnesota at North Dakota! How come I didn't get tickets in my season ticket package for this game? It's 0-0 in the second.
  18. A cynic would be obliged to point out this "tailoring" of the application requirements helps Dean Blais, but doesn't seem to have harmed Rob Bollinger's chances either now does it. Bollinger was an AAD at UND but was fundraising/FSC, not administrative/operations.
  19. Why'd that "Dragnet" bah-da-bah-bum, .... bah-da-bah-bum-BAH! sound just go off in my head? I believe it's because that says to me that Hedberg thinks he's been wronged.
  20. And that's before considering that MSU-Mankato is going down to NSIC scholarship levels.
  21. Did I say they were moving to the Horseshoe? No .... I said they're choosing to showcase an actual spring sport before the (made up to appease folks who want to practice 12 months per year) spring football game.
  22. That is not quite accurate. Last sweep at home: March 2007, WCHA playoffs, first round (two games over Mankato). Last regular season home sweep: October 6-7, 2006 vs. Quinnipiac Last regular season WCHA home sweep: March 3-4, 2006 (over Tech).
