Cleopatra. The more I look at the lyrics to "Cleopatra, Queen of Denial" (Pam Tillis) the more they fit how too many NDSU "Cleopatras" are viewing their "romance" with Chapman: Well I said he had a lot of potential He was only misunderstood You know he didn't really mean to treat me so bad He wanted to be good And I swore one day I would tame him Even though he loved to run hog wild Just call me Cleopatra everybody, 'cause I'm the Queen of Denial I knew he didn't have any money Yeah that's why he couldn't buy me a ring Oh and just because he bought himself a brand new pickup truck Really didn't prove anything And he never had to say he loved me I could see it every time he smiled Just call me Cleopatra everybody, 'cause I'm the Queen of Denial Oh Queen of Denial, buyin' all his alibis Queen of Denial, floatin' down a river of lies Well I'm not gonna jump to conclusions Or throw away this perfect romance Even though I caught him dancin' last night With a girl in a leopard skin pants Yeah, he's probably stuck in traffic And he'll be here in a litte while Just call me Cleopatra everybody, 'cause I'm the Queen of Denial Oh Queen of Denial, buyin' all his alibis Queen of Denial, just floatin' down a river of lies

Wait a minute ... Barry Hall was supposed to be a $20 million project. That they went $3 million over came out during the whole NDSU president's house debacle. But it seems they really went $3 and a half million over now.

Clearly that is not possible, you thinking that is. He contacted the head. Penalty (Rule 6, Section 23 I believe). He has history of contact to head. Supplemental Discipline (Rule 4, Section 10 I believe.) Don't worry, those three games will be here and gone in no time, ... just like your MacNaughton dreams.

If Geoffreon *had* said that he'd be suspended for a game. See: Mario Lamoureux.

Now yes, the letter was written by the man to put himself in the best possible light, but I also almost feel sorry for Adams. He was basically told he had to "proceed or risk losing (his) job". Heck of a nice guy that Chapman putting another person in that position. What I find more interesting are the attachments. Adams knew the books weren't good. He details accounts and amounts of concern pretty well. In his Nov 18 memo he says, "Without both of these there are serious concerns about meeting budget in the new biennium." (Both means both a 4% tuition increase and 400 more students in fall 2009.) Chapman knew that and when it got tough he resigned and moved to Colorado. If that's in a letter of resignation, what'll the audit report have in it?

The Fargo Forum has updated the story in the link to include a new quote from NDSU President Hanson:

I posted the story at 10:45. MplsBison posted at 1:40. OK, so who had "under 3 hours" in the "How long until MplsBison puts up a sham, Rodney King 'Can't we all just get along?,' post" pool? Whomever you are, Oxbox6 has your money.

I'm sure Adams (NDSU's top finance offical) had planned on resigning this summer also. http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/270902/ On a surely totally unrelated subject, I wonder how the audits after the house issues and such are going ...

And Zajac got a 5, a 2, and a 10 for that.

I'm waiting.

I complained about it the following ways: - The elbow never landed and elbowing (SECTION 12. A player shall not use the elbow in such a manner as to foul an opponent) doesn't include an "intent" or "missed" clause like slashing does (SECTION 47. a. A player shall not slash an opponent with the stick. Slashing includes all cases where a slashing gesture is made regardless of whether contact occurs), so it's a bad call. - The hitting from behind by Marvin on Blood (SECTION 23. a. A player shall not push, charge, cross-check or body check an opponent from behind in open ice*) wasn't called. * Having a copy of the 2008-10 NCAA Ice Hockey Rule Book is a handy thing.

I didn't say "injuries". I said lost remainders of seasons due to illegal hits. That is a significant distinction. Names and causes please, as I provided in UND's case. Thank you. And please remember to stay this side of Jan 1, 2005, in your data.
-
I intentionally did *not* include those two because they failed to meet the criteria I had set: Trupp: No penalty was called, no suspension given, after the knee-to-knee contact. Genoway: His season did not end in that case.
-
Dear fans of other WCHA teams, Please list for me the season ending injuries to your team caused by illegal (illegal: if a penalty was called or sanction given later) hits during games by opponents since Jan 1, 2005. Please note that is a very specific criteria so please stick to it. No "missed games" or "in practice" or "clean hits" need apply. For UND: Chay Genoway: concussion via CFB <-- this assumes his season is over Derrick LaPoint: double fracture of lower leg via slew foot Derrick LaPoint: concussion via hit from behind Robbie Bina: broken neck via hit from behind If you, oh wise and knowing fans of other squads, can put up a list that devastating of season enders since Jan 1, 2005, caused by illegal hits I'll listen to your words about UND being the bad guys. If not, take a look at who's really being hit with devastating injuries due to illegal play. Signed, Patiently awaiting your lists

Anyone else notice that Sunday's Fargo Forum (ink and pulp version) re-ran the story on Fridays' game, and not the Saturday story.

Tigger free; game is extra. (Now some of you are hungry for Mexican food. )

I thought Ryan Hale was working with Fargo North.

It's his opinion. Good for him. The difference between him and me? I enjoy hearing his opinion (as misguided as I may believe it to be). More speech and free speech is good speech. He wants to stifle the opinion of the Spirit Lake Nation. He wants to limit speech. Oh the irony of a newspaper columnist looking to limit speech.

Williston tallies two ENGs and wins 4-1. No GF Red River at the tournament. Fargo South out of contention by 5 pm Thursday. Mercy.

No, history says he's somewhat untouchable for whatever reasons. http://boardsroom.blogspot.com/
