We've found one thing we agree on. -

Tantrum? Never have; never will. (You spin me as a hard-liner. I'm not. I just want to see this play out with open integrity to try to minimize the whining after whatever result comes about.) I'll be surprised if someone actually does something, any real action, in any of this. To this point, all parties have used this as an exposition of action avoidance. -

That too would require action. They're all going to do nothing and then act surprised when nothing's happened come November. -

I've never seen a formal document saying "June 2010" (heard a lot of noise, but seen nothing formally written down) so the only answer I can say is "Nov 2010", which is documented. Come out and say? That would require action. Don't expect it. -

Go back and ready my option/point: SR has effectively a) made the ND SBoHE the "heavy". That's what you're saying too. Deep down inside I know what is really going on: Both sides are letting the clock run out so they can claim it wasn't their action. -

I think this ^^^ gets pretty close. By taking this approach Standing Rock is basically asking: - Will you really listen to us? - Will you really turn the decision over to us? If the ND SBoHE drops the name Thursday one could argue that SR made the right call in that they saved themselves time and energy that would have been ignored anyway. This way, they have effectively either a) made the ND SBoHE the "heavy" or, b) truly taken the power on the decision for themselves. Seems win/win for SR Council. -
Seems they are playing two more today. http://www.fightingsioux.com/SportSelect.d...amp;SPSID=58539 There's a "listen link" in there also.

Butler going to MBB national title game
The Sicatoka replied to MplsBison's topic in Men's Basketball
Gee, that sounds a little like the "cafeteria plan" some crazy guy offered up a while back, a plan where you picked the sport and the funding level you chose to compete at on a sport-by-sport, and not total department, basis, with no minumum number of sports having to be offered. Who was that crazy guy again? -

Tutors to take tests for you aren't cheap. No, wait, that was Haskins, not Tubby. -
My prediction: Darby and Anthony L-P in the booth. Gorg at ice level. Marnie G. doing intermissions with Doug Woog taking on a "Don Cherry" like role beside her.

HEAVENS! Is one of LaPanta's hairs out of place!

There, folks, is the key. They're a one-trick pony. As much as Butler's Cinderella run is making media noise and wonderful copy, it's also quietly being "noticed" by schools that have athletic department budgets larger than the total annual operations costs of Butler. I'll be interested to see how they respond to it going forward. I expect a new round of interesting sport sponsorship and funding rules to show up at the next NCAA convention (sponsored by the big conferences). -
(Since there's no Moldin' Rodent fan available to cover this I'll take it.) IMPOSSIBLE! There are no trees in ND.
-
With all this swirling about his team, why doesn't Coach Bohl come out and put the story to bed one way or the other so his team can focus on practice? Coach Bohl, ... where are you?
-
Let me simplify all that: There's a big difference between "on paper" and "on ice".

Seems they are gutting the Education Building and then putting on an expansion that appears to connect it to Gillette Hall. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/156391/ Based on what I can decipher from the image and the plans this view is looking east (with Gillette on the right, the new section in the middle, and Education on the right). I found these plans: http://www.edbuilding.und.edu/drawingset.pdf

The question is this: What caused that and what'll turn it around? It'd be really embarrassing to some if UND Athletics ended up at WDAY-AM and it coincided with a resurgence of WDAY-AM. Like I said, "The Arbitron book will sort out winners and losers over the next few years."

Bison fans or Bison footballers in a library? {punchline here}

KFGO made a business decision. We all learned a great deal about how KFGO (and somewhat NDSU) does business. That's fine. Good for them. But I've heard from a surprising number of folks that KFGO and RadioFM are coming out of their routines. These folks have been asking me where to find UND on the radio so they can move over there. And more surprising to me, it isn't so much "UND" in many cases but the way KFGO treated a long-term relationship and existing contract (i.e. two hours notice and gone). That sounds interesting but words and practice are different things. Some folks will move down the dial; some folks will move up the dial. The Arbitron book will sort out winners and losers over the next few years.

We are six months after the hit. That's very concerning.
-
If that's true I'm thinking that some Fargo law enforcement officials should be facing some legal scrutiny.
-
Precisely. NDSU takes the risk. Joel Heitkamp takes the check.
-
NDSU is buying radio time on RadioFM. This was all about money and only money. Nothing more. Too bad RadioFM didn't give UND a chance on that front. Probably their loss.
-
NDSU has taken broadcasting "in-house" meaning they have to buy air time on stations for their games. That means NDSU showed up at RadioFM with lots of money to buy the air time. And I'm sure some legislator will be asking where the money came from.

What concerns me is that ForumComm only has one "stick" (WDAY-AM) in the Fargo market.
