I would really like to know if basically playing 4 games in 3 days, and 2 of those games on Sunday, might have a physical affect on SCSU. They have had several days in between so maybe it's no big deal. On the other hand, their bodies are used to 2 games every weekend, and now they really had to dig down for more, a little out of their normal rhythym. And playing on Friday afternoon, will that have any affect on them at all?

Also, will the mental edge be there after the highly emotional, stressful weekend?

I'm curious. Maybe it will be obvious, either way, on Friday.

It's a good question, and I wish we knew the answer. I would think that they'd come into Friday's game with some energy, but the Sunday night late night show may take it's toll on their Saturday game, especially if they play the matinee game. I do think that they'll come out with some jump, but I'm hoping they slow down midway through the game due to Sunday night. I'm curious as well to see if they play as hard as last year. Last year, they needed to win everything to go on, where this year, they're already assured a spot in the NCAAs.

I know it's late and totally off topic guys, but this doesn't merit a thread. Anyone taking Holy Cross over S. Illinois in their brackets for NCAA basketball tournament?

Yes. I have them beating Virginia Tech in the second round as well.

I would think for athletes that are young and in such excellent physical condition it would make no difference after 48 hours, barring injury. Normally, the mental side would be the bigger issue, but with what's at stake, that should not be a factor, either.

Should simply be the team that practices, prepares and then plays best ... wins! As always in hockey, a hot goalie can steal a game.

Go Sioux!
