According to the Fargo Forum (which is not always right):

SAVES: GFRR, Arnason 3-5-6=14. FN, Zehren 9-11-30=50

I believe that sounds about right. Red River pretty much dominated the game.

50 is a lot. If that is correct, that is pretty impressive.

and I went to the JHS alumni game...those current hs players for jamestown are very DISrespectful to the alumni...i heard them heckling some of their own players...i understand maybe at a rivalry game like JHS vs. Bismarck or Minot or something but an alumni game where both sides are ur team..i just found it pretty disrespectful and they kinda lost my support for the season....bit off topic but it bothers me.

Especially since the alumni would kill the present hs team. The alumni for Jamestown has some talented players like Jim Kropp, Page Klostreich, Spiedel, etc. The present JHS team sucks anyway.

A few days later it was taken off their schedule, even though the game was played, stats listed in the GF Herald and all. Hmm ?? Do the games count as a "scrimmage" according to the NDHSAA? I'm not trying to stir the pot, but I heard that other teams weren't allowed to have them unless they would be counted as one of the teams 21 allowed (regular season) games. ?? Does anyone know what the NDHSAA says about these games?

I can't say I know first hand on how these things work but I believe the games are treated no different than a practice. Except you play alumni instead of working on your forecheck, break-out, etc... . I would assume they are not reffed by paid officials and are treated no differently as far as the legality of the games go as a practice. That is the only way I can see such games occuring without it affecting compromising the structure of the season and number of actual games played. I hope that makes sense.

I think they have to be counted towards the 21 game schedule. Red River and Central did not play in holiday tournaments last year so they probably had room in their schedules.

No it is not counted toward the 21 game regular season. The RR alumni game was counted as a practice but they just scrimmaged the alumni.

I cant believe you said that. Bottineau is alot better than previous years. Look at the scoring leaders and you will see the Herbel kid is at the top of the list and he is as good as the scoring total indicates. He is as fast as anyone in the state with a great shot. I just don't understand why you have to say such a thing.

Point totals are not always an indicator of how well one plays. In most years if you are able to put up 30 points in the West, that probably correlates to around 15-20 points in the East. Besides, all point scoring is a function of how your team plays and the opportunities that they help you create. If you put one of Fargo South's top 4 point getters and put them on West Fargo, their scoring output will decrease because his opportunity to score will decrease. The same goes for if you put West Fargo's top player on Fargo South. He's going to get more points. My conclusion- points do not always provide a solid testimony to the strength of a players skill. Sometimes they do, but in North Dakota High School hockey, they can also be very deceiving.
