sagard Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Is Holy Cross' goalie Tony Quesada the same goalie who tossed his quesadillas in the regional game against the Sioux a couple of years ago? I swear at the Final 5, every time the Keebler giveaway was announced with the line "we're about to toss our cookies," I flashed back on that sight. Yes. They appear to have about 13 guys who probably played in that game two years ago. Quote
YaneA Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 And I hope no Gopher fan is insensitive enough to refer to Tony the Q as Ralphin' in the Ralph. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted March 20, 2006 Author Posted March 20, 2006 And I hope no Gopher fan is insensitive enough to refer to Tony the Q as Ralphin' in the Ralph. That would be a great headline though! After Holy Cross upsets Minny, the Herald could print, "Holy Cross has Minnesota Ralphin' in the Ralph! Quote
buckysieve Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Speaking of the show, I couldn't be more thankful of Bob Norton for calling the gophers out on national tv saying they don't play with grit. He also picked UND to win it all even though he said MN is the most talented team in the nation. He certainly gave the impression that the gophers are soft and don't have heart. That could certainly motivate the gophers for this weekend. The last time people questioned the gophers defense was after a home sweep against the badgers and the gophers went to the Ralph the next weekend and played very well. I have no idea who will win this region between UND and MN but I do know the gophers will play hard and will play well. Right now, I'd say UND is the favorite because of home ice and goaltending. I was thinking that it would be real funny if the Gophers one move wonder found himself all alone on Tony and got both stoned and barfed on for his trouble. But then it wouldn't be funny for very long as the barf would merely blend in with the rest of his uniform. Quote
cavedurtis Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 MN-Holy Cross play at 5:30; UND and Mich play at 8:30. Now we have the "North Dakota Rule" ensuring the Sioux play the night game. It's so unfair, there is no question the Sioux are the media darlings of college hockey. Quote

I kid you not...I just got back to my office after lunch and was eating a gingerbread cookie while reading this post. I laughed so hard, I almost spit a whole gob of gingerbread all over my monitor.
