University of North Dakota joins research project in India

Officials said the agreement allows UND faculty to teach a semester at India's Amrita University, with images and video transmitted to satellite sites around that country. "We do know that the agreement will create additional student populations both on campus and through distance education," Weisenstein said.

P. Venkat Rangan, a vice chancellor of Amrita University, said UND was included in the consortium because of its space-related education, which will be a major part of the initiative.

"UND's leadership in various fields, particularly aerospace education, is well known, and we are excited to have them as a partner," Rangan said.
