BleedGrn
I must be getting old, but when this kid was born (Toews), I was his age. While he's thinking about a million dollar carreer in the NHL, all I could think about was where the next beer was coming from and whether or not I was going to get my wanker wet that weekend. Ahh to be 18ish again!
THETRIOUXPER
You said "wanker"
TC_transplant
But remember, if that happens it's because Toews was playing against a sub-par team. On the flip side if kessel gets a hat trick it's due to his speed, moves and overall great play-making ability. Wouldn't it be because Toews is the best two-way player in the country and Kessel is lazy, doesn't play defense and won't pass to his teammates? THETRIOUXPER
Well, once again you're 100% wrong there, skippy. The best two way player would be Oshie, but thanks again for playing.
redwing77
Well, once again you're 100% wrong there, skippy. The best two way player would be Oshie, but thanks again for playing. No doubt. I don't recall anyone claiming Toews as the "best two way player in the country." Sure, we've said he's a better two way player than Kessel, but Kessel is hardly the country..... But yeah... think what you want TC... you're yet to say anything that is really worth agreeing to.
THETRIOUXPER
Hey, TC, I'm just curious. which poster is going to have to come off your bedroom wall to make room for saint phil's picture. Is it the Winger one or the David Hasselhoff "Baywatch" one?
Bear Man
This talk is on Toews. I could care less about Kessel. I agree. We look like we're infatuated with Kesel. We call him the Mr. Media but spend half our time talking about him. Enough already. Let's see how he plays in 8 days and talk about him then. Sioux_Hab-it
I agree. We look like we're infatuated with Kesel. We call him the Mr. Media but spend half our time talking about him. Enough already. Let's see how he plays in 8 days and talk about him then. Yes I did give him his handle Mr Media and it was out of frustration of seeing his name on this board all too often. I don't think most of the Sioux faithful bring him up anymore. Rather, it seems like every time we try to discuss Toews in any way some Skippy pops in here and inserts his name and the fight is on. I would offer that the Skippies are truly concerned over what this years recruiting class will become and are paying especially close attention to Toews (which they should). They realize that more good old Gopher @#$-kickings are close at hand.
siouxnami
I'll go way out on a limb here. Maybe I'm too cocky. Toews with his first college hat trick friday night. Sioux sweep. Right idea, wrong players. I does sound like Toews was an animal in this series though.
shep
I think it's nuts how often Sioux fans just HAVE to attempt to condemn Kessel even when a Goofer fan brings him up. I said it b/4 and I say it now, if he were here, he'd be talked about like Parise. Let's see what he does this weekend. It will be a good test for us and him. Can't wait for the weekend!!! Stiouxy
Both Toews and Kessel are unbelievable players who can do some amazing things with the puck, and both are extremely fun to watch. If they both stay around for awhile they should establish a great rivalry with eachother.

Goon
http://www.tsn.ca/world_jrs/news_story.asp?id=147086 Says Toews should be a lock on the team after his performance this past week. Other forwards who appear locked in for a spot on this year's team, but who will be playing against UBC tonight, include Andrew Cogliano, Jonathan Toews, Daniel Bertram, Steve Downie and Guillaume Latendresse. This is the quote that makes me think that Toews will not be back until the UAA series. It will give Toews some good experience for the rest of the season.
