(If ref isn't sure and no camera available, then don't call it.) * add a trapezoid, and align penalties for goalie playing puck outside it. * keep overtime 3x3 (but continue having it count for very little). The trapezoid was put in to stop Brodeur, they should just get rid of it NHL wants NCAA to have the same rules Quote

brianvf Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/schlossman-unpacking-the-changes-coming-to-college-hockey Quote We now know how the NCAA plans to implement it. Here are some details the NCAA shared with schools Thursday: It will begin with Spring 2026 graduates. They will have five years of eligibility and their eligibility clock will start ticking this fall. Those who graduated before 2026 will be under the old rules. They will have four years of eligibility and men's hockey players can defer enrollment for up to three years. Seniors in 2025-26 will not get an extra year of eligibility. Quote Although athletes' eligibility window begins after high school graduation, teams will likely target bringing in most players at age 19 for four years — something they frequently do now — rather than age 18 for five years. Teams don't want to bring in 18-year-olds unless they're ready. If they're not, they'll end up as healthy scratches, then they'll transfer. There will be some 18-year-olds who are ready for college hockey — and even more once it gets slightly younger — but most of those players will likely sign pro before their fifth season. Quote
