I don't think the topic calls for any humor, now or during the season.  Even if he comes out of his coma, with what him and his family has been through, I'd really hope opposing fans wouldn't resort to such tactics.  That kid's teammates had to watch that all unfold and now see him in the hospital in a coma, they don't need reminders in the future.  If I hear or see something like that at a UND game I'll be appalled and would be ok with people being removed for it.  Did people taunt Travis Roy or BU for the awful outcome in '95?

Yeah, would not be a good look for any fanbase, but some people have very limited common sense.

ASU hockey player remains in critical condition; family lawyer blasts military-style workout

Quote

Liane Blyn, ASU hockey's sports performance coach, was not present for most of the workout due to Ziesel's pre-approved oversight role as outlined in documents required for the athletic department's approval. Head coach Greg Powers watched much of the workout from the track stadium's stands, along with three assistant coaches, according to several people directly familiar with the circumstances who spoke with Sun Devil Source on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the situation.

Quote

"It is my understanding that Mr. Ziesel was given carte blanche to do whatever he wanted out on that field and that the players were instructed to follow everything that he said, no matter what," Aragon said.

The session, intended to build program unity, consisted of military-style calisthenics and team-building exercises, with sections split between the grass and the track.

"There isn't a DI athlete on the planet that would describe this as a hard day of exercising, including the ASU hockey team," said Buddy Rake, Ziesel's attorney, to 12News last week.

Aragon, a former scout for the 2/68 Armored Tank Battalion, challenged Rake's claims regarding what Aragon described as a "grueling" workout, adding that "it was a military-style workout for professional special forces members that was designed to break down and push the players as far as they could go."

When the other lawyer was in the Army and calls the BS from the other lawyer, love to see that.

Quote

"I don't think it was just Matthew that was pushed too far," Aragon said. "I think a lot of the players ultimately will come out and tell you that," although at least some of the team's members were reluctant to talk for fear of reprisals, Aragon indicated.

Quote

"These coaches and ASU control almost every aspect of their life," Aragon said. "They control whether they get playing time; they control whether they have scholarships. So it's very difficult for these players to speak freely when the threat of someone with a lot of power over them is sitting there and the school hasn't sequestered the coaches and the players, as far as I know."

Everyone should go on the record and say what happened. This isn't going away anytime soon.

The coaches being there and not seeing a problem is damning of failed leadership. I'm for all of them being gone. You had one job to do, and you couldn't do that right.

It's probably too fricken to hot to train outside when it's 90 degrees.

I've seen it 95 at 1 to 2am and 91 at 4am.

Easily preventable situation. Lesson to kids out there say something and don't try to tough it out.

So THREE young athletes die in two weeks (one right in front of his friends and fans after scoring a td in a game) and we're talking about a workout that THOUSANDS of athletes have done and probably more vigorous (Pat Tillman says hello)......

And it's more than just those 3...maybe the mods could open up or take a look at the Athletes Dying Young thread that got shut down....

How many more will it take to wake up?

Pat Tillman went through boot camp. He had to pass a PT test and clear medical for Ranger School. Then he had to go through all the schools Green Berets go through.

"The message" you keep spouting isn't connecting to the COVID Vax.

David Carle had a heart condition that was caught at DU that ended his career, and it wasn't caused by "the message".

If "the message" was true he should have had issues in the last 4 years. Athletes have died from heart issues for years before "the message".

Also, from a Navy Seal Senior Chief "We see guys that are D1 level athletes that can't make it through training while we have a kid off the farm make BUD/s look easy".
