From the Green Mill, Tim Hennessy and Scott Swygman are the hosts with Sioux hockey coach Dave Hakstol.

TH: Dave Hakstol joins us after a weekend in New England. You had a nice weekend at New Hampshire against a very good hockey team.

DH: It was a good weekend coming out of there with a win and a tie. It was a good experience and I liked the way the team reacted in different situations. Overall, I liked the way the players reacted in both games.

Thanks PCM.

I'm concerned about DU's big three (Gauthier, Statsny, and Carle) but we'll see what comes out of the series.

I wish someone would have asked Hak about Spirko or perhaps team health condition... I'd really like to know how much longer we have to be without Sparky.

The big three is exactly what Denver has left. Carle is possibly the best offensive D-Man this year in college hockey however, the four big boys that kept Mannino's rebounds in check Skinner, Larsen, Laatch and Halme have all moved on. They managed to get by Air Force last weekend and let an offensively challenged Notre Dame team get three goals so I am hoping that the Sioux can jump all over them.

It's hard to disagree with the coach so I'm going to say that I think that the caller was right about the crashing of the net for the most part.

I wouldn't say that this is a "new" part of the Sioux game. However, it is definitely a more prominent part of the Sioux game than in years past. I can remember screaming both at the games and on this board to crash the net.

The caller wasn't talking about crashing the net. He was talking about having someone parked in front of the net on power plays to tip in deflections or put in rebounds. I do remember seeing Zajac and Porter handling that duty last season.

As I recall, you wanted the Sioux to "rush the net." I thought that you'd been watching Venus and Serena for too long. :);)

As I recall in the west regional a couple years ago (Denver's 1-0 improbable win), a few wide open net chances were chipped over the net. Maybe it was Venus and Serena in Sioux unis ;)

I thought it was a dumb question. Just watch Zajacs goal vs. Denver in championship game, he was right in front on the power play when our D get the puck like he always is.
