Looks like Malcolm Spence of the Erie Otters is going to the NCAA next season, most likely to Michigan as Schloss reported

Boy that is a nice get.

Was being a smart aleck

Since you seem to know what's going on within the program, ask your source why UND isn't getting any high-scoring CHL forwards; since you made this claim recently on May 5th: "We aren't getting a decent CHL guy...".

Seems a little odd that UND would be right in the running for McKenna as short as a month ago, to not getting  any top CHL scorers present-day, especially from the WHL.

UND has more to offer these recruits than 90-95% of college hockey teams. A lot of teams would love to be in UND’s position. We just don’t have big ten money.

1. Who the players are represented by.

2. Money

3. Grand Forks not being appealing.

Malcolm Spence to Michigan now official

He’s ranked as a 1st rounder…but I’m kind of confused how this kid isn’t a top 5-10 projected pick. His numbers are super good. His D might be a work in progress I suppose.

90-95%….im a homer too….but boy, you’re a little out of touch with this one. And I’m saying that as nicely as a can :)

Those are your source's answers to why UND isn't getting any top CHL scorers, or yours?

The players representation is my source. Other two are just common knowledge.

The advisors want their blue chip players  to play with/against other blue chips.

Scpa, thank you for the kind words. That was a little bit of a “homer” take but my main point is that UND falls in the top 12 programs in college hockey for what they can offer recruits. College hockey has 64 teams, 90% of that would be 12-13 teams. I don’t see there being 5 teams outside of the Big Ten that would provide more to a recruit than UND

Question for all of you here. If you were representing Gavin McKenna, would you want him to go to UND and play in the toughest conference in college hockey for let's say $400k less than what he would be getting at a B1G school, and putting up video game numbers to solidify him being the number one pick in next year's draft.

I feel like we should have as good as of a shot as anyone on the Western Canadian guys. We won't get the Ontario kids ever.

But according to you, not any "decent" WHL guys, right?

McKenna will get his money regardless through brand deals but your point is correct. If McKenna takes less money, his advisors get less money.

Brand deals? Hockey guys don't make much from them.

Ok, that's great to hear, but you said last week that UND wasn't getting any "decent" CHL guys. So you're saying or implying 2 different things.
