Pre-Season Poll

I'm surprised that GVSU is ranked ahead of UND. Also didn't Pitt St. lose both of their quarterbacks, or just one? Philpot is gone, right? I'm a little surprised USD isn't on the list either. They were a surprise last year, but could be again this year. They still have Logan coming back, don't they?

You do realize that Preseason Polls are worth as much as used toilet paper come the end of the regular season.  But, then again, my team's ahead of yours so YAY!!!   ;)  ;)  ;)

Oh yeah? Well, I have 2 solid chances to finish ahead of your team ;)

Philpot is gone, Majors is still there, the one that looks like Johnny Damon. They also still have Race, that big RB of theirs as well. Then again, he might have lost a little confindance about running downfield after that hellacuous hit he took in the NC game.

From Sports Illustrated:

DIVISION II

1. Grand Valley State

Led by QB Cullen Finnerty, Lakers are poised for third title in four years

2. Pittsburg State

Gorillas will punish foes with bruising RB Germaine Race (2,213 yards, 26 TDs)

3. North Dakota

Gamebreaker Weston Dressler led all divisions with 613 punt-return yards

4. Valdosta State

QB Barrett Wilkes one of 13 new starters defending champs must break in

5. N.W. Missouri State

RB Xavier Omon rushed for 1,575 yards and 19 TDs as a freshman last year

6. Edinboro

Fighting Scots stocked on offense with front five and TB Andre Burke all back

7. East Stroudsburg

Warriors well-armed behind QB Jimmy Terwilliger (3,826 yards, 33 TDs in '04)

8. Texas A&M-Kingsville

Javelinas' hard-nosed D anchored by All-America LB Deandrae Fillmore

9. Northwood

Dual-threat QB Kyle Kolbe guides offense that averaged 40.2 points per game

10. Albany State

Golden Rams have pair of big-play backs in Antwan Andrews and Antonio Atkins

I didn't realize until I read this that Dressler lead all division in punt return yardage.
