Strib headline today - Hydrogen hub in Minnesota and North Dakota wins nearly $1 billion in federal money

Inside the story - 'The Heartland Hydrogen Hub was shepherded by the University of North Dakota's Energy and Environmental Research Center. Its two main corporate partners are Xcel and a joint venture of Ohio-based Marathon Petroleum and TC Energy, a Canadian pipeline operator.'

Coal and nuke plants are best run (most efficient) when set at a level and left there, normally it's full power. 

On days when there's sun or wind (renewables actually on-line and producing) Xcel's Red Wing (Prairie Island) is at 100% but no one needs the energy so they've been cracking water to make hydrogen on those kinds of days.
