Canuck Posted February 4, 2005 Share Posted February 4, 2005 I just love posts like these. Blame the defense. It is the easiest thing to do, especially for those that don't really "see" the game. What some people don't often see or talk about is the errors on the part of the forwards. In a number of situations, forwards leave the d-men out to dry. They may not fill in on the blue line when the d-man drops down. Some forwards don't forecheck aggressively or at all. Some don't backcheck. And there are times when they just don't win the battles in the corners. There may be a blatant error on the forward's part, but the less observant person would just see the d-man and blame him, rather than seeing the error beginning with the forward. In any case, hockey is an interesting game. There is a lot more to it than defensive errors. What a concept. Actual insight into the game of hockey. All they do is ring it around the boards and leave the wingers in a tough spot.
