DolphinTattooSioux64 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 The defense will be very sound next year but like every year there will always be questions about who will step up. I think it is time to figure out who will play this spring. Who do you guys think? Quote
StinkyLB64 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 This is a very good point dolphin. Obviously the sioux D is going to be great once a gain look at some of the names that are coming back on the defensive side of the ball, Digger Gagner Brandstead Dahlen Shane D. You could go on and on one person that i really hope solidifies his spot on this team is going to be Donavan Alexander he has a tremendous up side and could be very very good if he gets it done this spring. Quote
DolphinTattooSioux64 Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 Your right stinky i think that he will be very good. One position that i would like to see is the o-line. Smith is a big lose and the O will need a strong group to step up. Who do you think it will be? I will miss Andy H too. Quote
StinkyLB64 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I think that Brett Bauer is going to be a good one too. He has some great potential as well. Another really young one would be Troen he could be good someday if he can gain some weight. Quote
PatSweeny Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I like Bauer he is a big kid. I Can't wait to see him develop. Quote
DolphinTattooSioux64 Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 Bauer has alot of potential I hope he works hard to develop. I would hope that the QB could get better protection this year. I will miss Roland he was a strong runner. So hopefully they can find one of those too. Not Rohde he is weak. Quote
PatSweeny Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I have talked with that Rohde person before. He is too cocky and does not have what it takes mentally too be a tough runner. Plus they have other guys who can carry the load too. Quote
StinkyLB64 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 That is true i was talking to a couple of the guys and they said that he didnt even practice the entire year, but in his defense i heard it was a pretty bad stress fracture. Those are never easy to deal with. I think he could be really good actually someday. What do you think Tommy? Quote
DolphinTattooSioux64 Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 I guess that could be true, I heard that he could someday pull his head out of his ass and actually be ok. I heard that a player from the bison will be transfering here too I think he is a LB. Does any one know? I also heard that coach Tibesar has a younger brother that was here on a visit. Is he any good? Quote
Tommy Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Come on fellas. GIve the young guy a chance to show himself. He seems like a pretty nice kid and I remember having to give other backs, such as Roland a little time to develop into a power house. He'll be a good one to watch for. Quote
Tommy Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I think the shout out to the El Roco is great. I didn't know that place was still running. I use to go there back in my college days. I could cut a pretty good rug back in those days. Quote
DolphinTattooSioux64 Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 You do have a good point tommy. Roland did take a while....a little to long i my opinion...but he turned out ok. I still want to know if anyone knows this LB's name from the Bison? Quote
bisonguy Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I guess that could be true, I heard that he could someday pull his head out of his ass and actually be ok. I heard that a player from the bison will be transfering here too I think he is a LB. Does any one know? I also heard that coach Tibesar has a younger brother that was here on a visit. Is he any good? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think the former Bison LB is Tyler Morrow. He was a 2002 recruit, and transferred to NDSCS. He had a medical redshirt last year at NDSCS, and supposedly has three years of eligibility left. Here's his bio- LB Tyler Morrow, 6'2 220 lbs., Wahpeton H.S. (ND), North Dakota Class AAA 1st Team All-state. Also competes in track as a shot putter. 2000 NDHSCA All-state 2nd team as a junior. Quote
StinkyLB64 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I think you are trying to think of a kid by the name of Tyler Morrow He played at the agtech school for a year or something and then went to NDSCS for a year and now he is coming to UND Quote
Tommy Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 It did take some time for ROland. I think he just needed to find his focus. He also had a nice lookin girlfriend who would be inspiration enough for me. KNow what I mean? Quote
DolphinTattooSioux64 Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 Thats his name huh? Is he any good? I hope he can carry on the tradition of great LB's if his is good. At least he made up for his mistake of chooing the bison. I wonder if there will be anymore transfers. I hope that Digger will mold him into the proto type linebacker that he has become. Quote
StinkyLB64 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Really, good for him im sure she really does help him out a lot. Quote
DolphinTattooSioux64 Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 No tommy i don't know what you mean.....I don't think that is where he got his inspiration. I think he got that from his teammates, like marsh and craig and vandy and digger and even from his dog lumpy. Quote
StinkyLB64 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Lets get back on topic, The offense i think that the Sioux are going to have to get some recievers to step up with the loss of Caleb johnson there is going to have to be some plays made. That kid was just a gamer when it came down to it "a play having to be made" caleb always made them i mean the kid had like 50 catches in the playoffs alone. Those are some plays that needed to be made and somebody will have to pick up that slack. Quote
PatSweeny Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Roland and I talked one time and he told me about his dog Lumpy. It was one of his sources of inspiration. It had three legs and he would bring it hunting. Quote
DolphinTattooSioux64 Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 Good point, lets get back to the main point, I think the receivers will be a big question. the sioux don't really have a tall receiver that they can throw it up too in the end zone unless they go to the tightends. They should bring someone tallin. Quote
CoyotePerry Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Ever since Jimmy K. left for the NFL. The coaching staff at UND has underappreciated the TE position so dont expect it to change. Quote
Smoggy Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 What just happened? Are you guys just chatting with each other between your rooms, but were too lazy to actually open your mouths? Quote
siouxfb Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 If my memory serves me right, and I know it does. Roland spent his freshman year taking turns sitting in a chair with Bowenkamp during practice. Unless it was cold, then he went inside. So who knows, maybe Rohde's future will be as bright as Adams. Lets hope so. Quote
HOKAHAY Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 That is a good point siouxfb he did sit out his entire first year with a very strange back injury. I think that who ever was dogging Rohde was just trying to give him a little shot with nothing bad intended if they were that is uncalled for. Quote
