Relegation Football Leagues

If you google Relegation and "soccer" in England/Great Britain it is amazing.  Level upon level of soccer where if you suck as a franchise/owner you go lower/deeper down the cesspool of leagues....on the flip side if you do well you keep moving up to where if you are a  soccer team in a small Welsch city could could be playing in their version of the NFL and playing Chelsea FC.

With the addition of the XFL and the others that have attempted to start up i think that if that same mentality of if you suck (Cleveland Browns)...you lose right to be playing the Bears in Soldier Field...you go play the Vegas Vipers instead....c ya when you don't suck?

The games at the bottom of the table (standings) are every bit as important as the games at the top.

Think of it - no more tanking!   Would certainly make US major league sports more interesting.

European soccer also requires clubs to pay for their own stadiums.  No extortion of money from the city or state.  I'm a fan of that also.

adam silver mentioned relegation when talking about EVERYONE tanking to get that 7'4" french phenom.....

haha..mentioned the browns in my post then they blow out the bungals!  but if you think about it....cities like Oklahoma City, Omaha, Sioux Falls,  Aluquberuqe, Biloxi, Des Moines, Fresno...and others having a second tier football franchise.

imagine the meltdown in Minneapoilis if the Viking got relegated and the winner of a Omaha Beefmasters versus a Sioux Falls Beefcutters replaced them in the NFC North?

what was the saying .... without the Vikings, Minnesota would be a Cold _ _ _ _ _ ?

Euro leagues are also very noncompetitive.  Same teams win year after year, because the good elite teams stay at the top and have stability, while the other teams yoyo back and forth between the top and lower leagues and can't sustain anything and are usually a financial shambles.  It seems fair on paper, but has huge flaws.  No thanks.
