sprig
Nice to skate off those penalties, although it sounded like a Maine shooting gallery out there, luckily few were on net.
sprig
How the heck is McMahon allowed back on the ice after a 5? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He was given a 5 minute major only.
DamStrait
He was given a 5 minute major only. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hence my question. I thought a major was an automatic DQ or misconduct (out the rest of the night and maybe tomorrow night too).
sprig
Hence my question. I thought a major was an automatic DQ or misconduct (out the rest of the night and maybe tomorrow night too). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope; they don't have to add a DQ or misconduct to a 5 minute. sprig
Has it always been that way or is it something new? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Always, the extras are at the referees discretion, although a 5 minute fighting gets a DQ . Score is 1-1, nearing the end of P1.
sprig
Maine for hooking; looks like all games will be special teams as expected. PP almost has to improve after this.
DamStrait
Smoggy (or anyone watching on TV), Sioux gettin' homered or are they just being stupid?
Smoggy
So we get a PP at the end of the period. Zajac on the point. He goes down, the Genoway can't hold, and it's a break away. Parise with a huge save.
sprig
SH breakaway for MAine, stopped by JPar, Period ends at 1-
UND Fan
Smoggy (or anyone watching on TV), Sioux gettin' homered or are they just being stupid? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think we are getting "homered" - just out of position a couple of times. It looks like a typical early season game - neither team is all that smooth yet!\ Parise has made some great stops!
Smoggy
End of first and it's 1-1. We are really hitting the Maine. If this keeps up all weekend, they are going to be sore come Sunday morning. Other than that, penalties have been key. We do seem to be aggressively forechecking. sprig
Gotta love 5 minute PP's, especially when 3+ is 5 on 3. Sioux came out of that period lucky. Sounded like they dominated possession 5 on 5 (although there wasn't much), and even had some puck control for much of the shorthanded situations. Smoggy probably has a better idea, seeing it on TV. Smoggy
Notre Dame is up 1-0 on UMD. Michigan lost to Northeastern today.
DamStrait
Web audio is coming in great tonight. We bitch when they get it wrong, so we need to give 'em "ata boys" when they get it right.
sprig
6 saves apiece for JPar and Howard, not many considering the minutes of PP time for each team.
DamStrait
Ok, now let's see a lot of 5x5.
