Rynomania
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/13/sports/hockey/minnesota-gophers-st-cloud-state.html New York Times piece today. It outlines the emergence of other programs besides the traditional bigs. Question: this article targeted the Gophers, but does this also affect UND? The article makes casual mention to Michigan, Wisconsin, and the Beanpot Bigs. If it does, then is what we're seeing this year in Grand Forks a "new normal"? Look at where traditional powers Michigan, BC, BU, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota are in the PW.

Siouxperfan7
The success of teams like Union, Yale, and Providence winning a National Championship and upstarts like Penn St. And Arizona St. are great for college hockey. Probably goes without saying. Schools are encouraged by these small non power house schools have success at the D1 level and it only helps them to think about starting up a D1 program at their school.
