farce poobah
At Kansas, its Allen Fieldhouse, but the court is named after James Naismith. I think UND hockey should do the same, and name the RINK after Dean Blais. After all, I don't think it would have been built without his contributions. Thanks Coach. Good luck with the 'Jackets. PS. Stop by and see us at the Frozen Four.

Guest #1SiouxHockeyFan11
Dean Blais, I will surely miss you. You did a wonderful job coaching at UND and im sure it will continue on into the NHL. And I hope the 2004-2005 season will go great and we will win the NCAA for you. It was very fun going to see the hockey games every weekend that i could make it there. I was always cheering. Good Luck to you in the NHL. You did a great job here at UND. And I will miss you very much. ~#1SiouxHockeyFan11
Jordan_Parise_FREAK!
You got UND Men's Hockey so far, Dean. Thanks for the great seasons of watching your team kick the crap out of other teams.

dagies
From Reusse's column today Reusse COACH DEAN BLAIS always had a surprise for new players during his 10 years in charge of North Dakota's hockey program. When the young man walked into his first early class -- say, 8 a.m. -- of fall semester, he would find Blais or an assistant coach sitting there. If a player was reported missing a class, he would go through an intense, Blais-supervised workout at 6 a.m. the next day. If the same player missed a second class, the entire team would go through a Blais workout at 6 a.m.
