Manderleigh13 Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Booooo!!!! Great song. "Welcome to the Jungle" is the classic hockey song. It cannot be retired. Quote
Fighting Sioux Fan Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Speaking of - time to retire "Welcome to the jungle" ...getting old. Retire the best song that is played at games? Have you lost your mind? Maybe we should retire you? The Shout cover by Disturbed is a good one, too! Quote
DamStrait Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 "Welcome to the Jungle" is the classic hockey song. It cannot be retired. It can and it should be. Quote
cfm567b27 Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 It can and it should be. Amen to that...Sick of the 90's..... Need to bring in Stupify....... Quote
#1siouxfan22 Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Welcome to the jungle is a great great hockey song. There is no way is sould be retired. Quote
pimpinainteasy Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Isn't it funny how #1siouxfan22, and phoenixin05 agree on this topic too! Welcome to the Jungle has to go, terrible song, way too overplayed. The best song for a college game is the UND fight song, but for anything else it has to be Song No. 2 (Woo-hoo) by Blur after a goal Quote

izzi6 Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 get rid of 'welcome to the jungle?' That's sacrilege. Elizabeth Quote
cfm567b27 Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 That's blasphemy to suggest such a thing. Jungle is one of the greatest songs to pump up a crowd at any sporting event. Speak for yourself...Got old around 1995....... Quote
soSIOUXme Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Amen to that...Sick of the 90's..... Need to bring in Stupify....... While I don't agree with you on "Welcome to the Jungle" ( anything that gets the crowd loud and on its feet can't be bad), Thank you very much for mentioning stupify! I have been trying to figure out what that song was all year it would get stuck in my head after games even though I couldn't understand the words, and you (along with napster) have just solved the mystery. Thanks. Quote
cfm567b27 Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Yeah it is by Disturbed. Well For Whom the Bell Tolls would also get the crowd loud and on it's feet. Just give it a chance.... Quote

You have not been this out of your mind since the "Pets at REA?" thread. Drugs r bad, mkay. Stupify is a good song though...and I believe it is/was in the warmup music. Quote

Fedorov Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Coming from little clown college kid that statement holds a lot of water. See, you are confused. NorthStar is at UND. It is his new underage girlfriend that is going to clown college in the fall. Quote
Fedorov Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 I liked Crawling as the opening song for warm-ups, but they got rid of it this year. I think pretty much any upbeat techno song is good for getting the crowd going too. If you are in Detroit, Hey Hey Hockeytown is a good song too. Quote
MafiaMan Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Here's one I recall being played when the Sioux took the ice..."Machinehead" by Bush. Not bad, not bad at all. Although this one is pretty loud and pretty tasteless, the beat of "The Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson rocks! "Welcome to the Jungle"...that song never gets old. Quote

Fedorov Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Thanks....I think I know you are holding out to find that hot girl wearing the North Stars sweatshirt. Quote

Either that, or it would cause all the people that are there to be social to panic and flee in terror... Quote

CVCL Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 please, please, I hope no one ever forgets one of the most classic uses of a song in the new REA. Jon Durno, Canisius, Third Period Penalty 'Dude looks like a lady" This one will be tough to top for timing by the staff at the REA. Quote
