PCM Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 sounds like he is on the side of the students... He is a student. He sounds very mature. Quote
Diggler Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 After two weeks of this coversation I think we can all agree upon one thing; PCM is a crotchety old geezer. Quote
PCM Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 PCM is a crotchety old geezer. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 29, 2004 Posted February 29, 2004 Yawn. Yet another person thinking "freedom of speech" gives you the license to do anything and say anything you want. I'd sit next to PCM at a hockey game anytime, Diggler. Quote
Diggler Posted February 29, 2004 Posted February 29, 2004 I don't disagree, it's just that everytime someone says students should be able to swear, etc. PCM responds with what could be seen as a grumpy old fart post. I think it's funny. Quote

I think it's funny. Believe it or not, I've held my tongue/keyboard once or twice. Plus, I was a grumpy young fart in college, so it's not like I've changed or anything. Quote

As much as I don't like to admit it (because I'm pro-cuss), the students are proposing a fallacious argument here. Quote

I think your right Phoneix, I am not so sure that F-Bombs are protected under the 1st amendment. Quote
MinnesotaNorthStar Posted February 29, 2004 Posted February 29, 2004 I think your right Phoneix, I am not so sure that F-Bombs are protected under the 1st amendment. I would venture to guess no. I think that REA needs to be a little lenient on some things, but we students could also make an effort (a large effort) to cut down on some of the obscentities used (for example, I think "Kick 'em in the junk" could be overlooked) [sarcasm]I don't know how the F-bomb can be construed as noncreative...it is the most versatile word in the English language[/sarcasm] Quote
Diggler Posted February 29, 2004 Posted February 29, 2004 [sarcasm]I don't know how the F-bomb can be construed as noncreative...it is the most versatile word in the English language[/sarcasm] That is so true. Is there a sentence you couldn't insert the word into? Go back to the woods is a good cheer too, the swear could be replaced rather easily. As is if you can't get into college, go to Tech. Quote

Go back, go back, go back to the woods...you're team really sucks and your coach smokes dope I think I did it. Yay for me!! Quote
MafiaMan Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Goon, Wasn't I already pointing out that "freedom of speech" doesn't necessarily mean the freedom to say anything anywhere at any time? Quote
