NorthDakotaHockey Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 We are looking at making the quick cruise on Saturday afternoon for the Saturday night game. The weather mavens down here are talking about a storm system coming from the northwest. I will appreciate if any of you can give me a reasoned word on what you are hearing about the liklihood, and anticipated severity, of a Saturday afternoon storm that might slow traffic on I-94 and I-29. I drive a lousy Ford. Otherwise, I might not be so concerned. Thanks. Quote
NorthDakotaHockey Posted January 30, 2004 Author Posted January 30, 2004 "Down Here" is the latrine sometimes referred to as the Twin Cities . . . . Quote
CoteauRinkRat Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 We are in a Winter Storm watch here in Grand Forks and up and down the valley until sometime on saturday. I've heard anywhere from 4-6 inches of snow expected. Quote
NorthDakotaHockey Posted January 30, 2004 Author Posted January 30, 2004 Thanks CRR . . . . If you think of it, give me another post in the morning or so to let me know if she is fizzlin', or intensifyin'. Quote
CoteauRinkRat Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 The Winter Storm watch is in effect until 6:00 pm on saturday. They say 4-6 inches are possible. This is eastern north dakota and north western Minnesota. Quote
choyt3 Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Thanks CRR . . . . If you think of it, give me another post in the morning or so to let me know if she is fizzlin', or intensifyin'. I would go to www.weather.com and enter a GF zipcode. I usually go by what the weather is actually doing at the time when deciding to take a trip or not. In this part of the country, if we were to base decisions on what a weather man says might happen, we wouldn't do a damn thing for 8 months. Well, except inside stuff. Quote
NorthDakotaHockey Posted January 30, 2004 Author Posted January 30, 2004 Thanks Mr. Clayton Hoyt . . . . 'Tis a good idea you have there. Someday I will come to learn all of the latest technology at our finger tips, and stop trying to figure the weather by stepping outside, looking at the sky, and pointing a wetted finger in different directions. Go Sioux!! All of you going, have fun. Rest of ya, see you around the internet radio feed, eh? Quote
sioux fan in phoenix Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Rest of ya, see you around the internet radio feed, eh? I sure hope it's better than last weekend: Tim H: "And*buffer*Parise*buffer*passes*buffer*to a*buffer*streaking*buffer*Bochenski*buffer*who takes*buffer* a*buffer*wick..*buffer*..ed slap*buffer*shot*buffer*and*buffer* Briggs*buffer*makes an*buffer*amazing*buffer*toe*buffer*save!" NorthDakotaHockey Posted January 30, 2004 Author Posted January 30, 2004 Sheesh that woman is distracting . . . . Quote
CoteauRinkRat Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 What item will sell the most at the Ralph this weekend, Coffee/Hot chocolate or Beer? Who am I kidding, BEER. Quote
puck Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Winter Storm Watch has been downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory with possible 2-4 inches of snow. Quote
sioux fan in phoenix Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Sheesh that woman is distracting . . . . Just put some duct tape over her mouth or get some ear plugs. Problem solved. Quote
U2Bad1 Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Looks like (right now) the south central to to the NW part of the state will be getting the brunt of the storm. The one winter that ND gets some interesting weather and im 1000 miles away in Utah Quote
farce poobah Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 Forecast is also for light winds, so even if it snows a bit, its light fluffy and not blowing much. I made the drive from Rodentland Friday PM, interstate is perfect winter driving conditions. (You know you're a Fan when the rink you have season tix at is 300 miles away.) Forecast for RRV Saturday is 1-3, more as you go north and west .... Sunday clear and cooler. Quote
CoteauRinkRat Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 light snow is falling right now, with little or no wind. Doesn't look to be too bad out there. Quote
NorthDakotaHockey Posted January 31, 2004 Author Posted January 31, 2004 Thanks for the reports guys. I do believe that we will load up the jalopy and head towards, and into, God's Country. God willing of course. Quote

God willing of course. NW Nodak did get pounded with snow, but it is not going to dump on us like that. Have a safe trip. Quote
