O-Player of the week: Parise or Vannek or who?

I would think these two players would be considered for Offensive Player of the week for the WCHA and maybe even USCHO.

Both had 7 points on the weekend--Both had 4 goals and 3 assists.

Vannek figured in on about 44% of the U of M offense on the weekend 7 of the 16 goals.

Parise figured in on about 58% of UND's offense, 7 of 12.

Did anyone else have a big weekend offensively? Or will it be between these two?

That one might be a toss-up from what I gather neither opposition put up a lot of fight so there might end up being co-offensive player of the week,

but it should be Parise, becuase I said so!

NObody else came close to the kind of weekend Vanek and Parise had. Lessard for UMD had 3-1-4, and Schwabe extended his point streak to 13 games. I would say the award should go to Parise, but Vanek may get it because of his hat-trick.

The fact that Vanek got a hat trick was meaningless. If Bochenski didn't get it for his 4 goal Friday performance vs UAA, then Vanek won't get it because of his hat trick.

Hat tricks aside, and just looking at the weekend totals, I will pick Vanek for USCHO and INCH POTW honors. Why? Because the Gophers at one time sucked this season and the Austrian sensation showing up is just a feel good story to more people (Minnesota population is larger than ND's). Therefore, Vanek gets the nod.

If everything is fair, then there would be co-POTWs, which is what will happen with WCHA honors.

Well it made me feel good.

More importantly, I don't care who gets either award.
