WCHA TV Streaming package

College Hockey news is reporting that the WCHA has teamed with America One for a program to stream all league games. Full season package is $150 or $125 if purchased by Oct. 1. Would have been great to see the NCHC do something similar. Would have been a great opportunity to let fans get familiar with some the new teams in the league. And of course, you could also watch road games, which UND Insider doesn't offer. It doesn't feel like the NCHC is doing much to get visibility in the new college hockey landscape. Hopefully some splashy annoucements come soon.

America One is the video streaming partner for the Big Sky conference as well. The Big Sky makes this service available for no charge. Seems like this would have been a good way to go for the NCHC, at least in their first year, to build up interest.

FWIW, America One has a very good video service in my experience. Neulion (North Dakota's provider), has been pretty hit and miss..........................

Based on these lists, Neulion must do good work for someone, http://www.neulion.c...TCLID=206146360 and http://www.neulion.c...TCLID=206115423. From looking at the list it appears that 6 out of the 8 NCHC schools use Neulion, with the exceptions being Colorado College and Duluth.

We switched to Neulion last year and it was a disaster. Yes it had much better quality than America One or even CBS Sports online package, but that was when the feed decided to work, which was about 60% of the time at best.

It's still nice to see that 6/8 are on the same platform. Last year Miami subscribers were able to watch the Western stream free of charge for both road games, it would be great to see that become the norm in the NCHC.

Agree about Neulion being solid when it's working, but definitely wonky at times. I would have loved to see the NCHC work out some experimental agreement with MLBAM for all online properties. They are the absolute gold standard, and perhaps the NCHC could have offered themselves up as a testing ground so that MLBAM could work on things with a smaller audience prior to rolling out for MLB. MLB.tv is the best online product out there, and the various MLB apps like at bat and at the ballpark are just top notch. MLB.tv is available on virtually any platform you can think of, while not every platform can take advantage of the countless features available, the broadcasts themselves are there and the quality is excellent.
