PSB Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 I am a independant satellite installer from St Paul MN. I specialise in Ku band satellite installs. Whatever you do dont ask a DirecTV or Dish installer to point your dish or install it as they dont have to right satellite meter to find Ku satellites, I do, feel free to e-mail me with any questions about satellite. installsat@aol.com 6517689150 1 Quote
administrator Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 Though how to view the Sioux on satellite is somewhat on topic, 4 unpaid advertisements in 4 different threads is probably enough. Quote

mksioux Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 Pete, I'm one of the interested ones. Do you sell the dishes and install them, or just install them? Feel free to e-mail me your response. To anyone: So when the Sioux are on the road, they are not on KU band? Quote
DamStrait Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 At the risk of incurring the wrath of Jim , let me just say that Pete is the guy that helped me out with my system. He's very knowledgeable and helpful, and his prices are very reasonable, IMHO (he's also a good scotsman, as if there are any other kind ). Again, I don't have any axe to grind here, just figured I'd give those that are considering putting in a system the benefit of my experience. mkSioux, it is my understanding that any games on the Fighting Sioux Sports Network, whether home or away, will be on digitial Ku band. The Denver series was not on the FSSN, but only on dataflix. Hope that helps. Quote

DamStrait Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 Have you been happy with what you have gotten? Without a doubt. At this point, it seems to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. Quote
Blackheart Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 I was just made aware of this on the Sioux Shop site. http://siouxshop.com/catalog/product_info....products_id=398 Anyone else look into this at all? Is this the same thing PSB has been advertising or can he "hook us up" to a better deal? Quote

This is over twice what I paid for my system (inc. delivery), but the Ralph system is looks to be a higher end receiver than what I have. I went in looking for the most inexpensive system possible, since I was only interested in picking up FSSN via satellite. PSB pointed my dish for me and I know he does installation of systems, but I don't if he supplies the systems (hardware) as well. Quote

Just to let you all know, Pete (Psb) installed a satellite system for me last Saturday. He was able to get the necessary hardware for me at a reasonable price. The hardware Pete found for me wasn't nearly as expensive as the one advertised on the siouxshop site, but I nonetheless found the quality of the UND v. UNA football game to be very good. The installation service was top-notch. I'm very much looking forward to Fighting Sioux hockey from the comfort of my living room. Quote

If only we had Belfour Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 I am curious, how does this sytem work? If you buy the sytem do you have to pay a monthly rate like DirectTV? What other things do you get withthis box? Does it replace your cable? I just look at even the $500.00 one and think if it is a one time fee to watch SIOUX HOCKEY for eternity, isnt that a small price to pay? Do you get all games like data flix or just the home games? I would appreciate any info available. Quote

I would appreciate any info available. Okay, so sure what just happened. I was in the middle of typing and got kicked out. So if this shows up twice, that's why. Here we go again. This is the information that I have gathered from Pete. No there is no monthly fee. Just the price of the equipment and you can get a basic system for around $250. I have DirecTV also and would keep that for my locals and other channels. This new dish would be used solely for Sioux hockey (they deserve their own dish anyway ) You can get moving ones where you can get different channels and such but I haven't looked at those. As far as I know it is just the home games you'll be able to get. So that's what I know (I think). Anyone have any more info, sugesstions? I think it's a he!! of a deal. I'm in Colo. and have not been able to find anyone (Denver even!) who has the equipment to get the games. Thought I had found a place last Friday, but then called during game time and they were unable to get it. Just to check, there wasn't any difficulty with the feed on Friday night was there? Anywho, I thinking, get the dish, a keg, a few friends... life is grand!! Quote
Erick Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 Anywho, I thinking, get the dish, a keg, a few friends... life is grand!! This is exactly what I had in mind. I have a dish on order, should be in today. I already purchased a kegerator this summer. Should be great once I get the dish up and running. Quote
mksioux Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 Have you had a chance to catch a game yet? Quote

Nodaker Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 I just bought the identical system that the siouxshop is offering from www.mysatpros.com. While the siouxshop does include 50ft of RG-6 with their system, I don't think that addition makes their system worth more than $300 dollars more. Now if they had the Sioux logo on the dish...... nah, still not worth it. Go Sioux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Erick Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Great minds think alike. So are you installing it yourself? Yes, I just received everything on Monday and I'm going to put it up this Saturday. I was hoping to have Psb come and point it whenever he'll be able to have a chance. As for the kegerator, great investment if you drink enough beer. I always have beer on hand and you get 7 3/4 cases in a keg that costs me $65 plus tax for Miller Lite, Bud Light, Michelob Light...etc. When a case is around $15 thats $116.25...it was just simple math that made me purchase the kegerator. The dish in the complete system I'm looking at is a little smaller though. Pete said it shouldn't be a problem where I'm at (Colo.) but when I come up north it might be. But I figured I'd take the chance and if I have to upgrade I will then. The dishes themselves aren't to bad. I'm not to worried about it. Did they say how long it would take to get delivered? We're actually coming up there for the holidays and I figured if I timed it right it could be delivered right when we got back and we could have it installed and ready to go for the UAA series. YEA! CoteauRinkRat Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Sounds like this is an option for many Sioux fans out of the area who would like to watch the team play. I hope it works for everyone. Quote
PSB Posted December 22, 2003 Author Posted December 22, 2003 Check out the pictures on my "new" web site, I have one of a Sioux dish, its not real before you ask : ) Just to show you what can done with a dish, you can paint your dish but not the LNB (the bit on the front) Happy Holidays!
