choyt3
Today's Herald article on it: http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/190431 Another unrelated tidbit from the same article: House Bill 1231 would give the director of UND
Westside
http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/190638/ Sanity prevails... The bill has been voted down.
dmksioux
http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/190638/ Sanity prevails... The bill has been voted down. Agreed... Some state institutions, such as North Dakota State University, already ban alcohol in their venues, but allow at least tailgating. UND policy differs depending on the venue. It's allowed in hockey games at Ralph Engelstad Arena, for example, but must stay in the Alerus Center's concourse area during football games. Tailgating is allowed at both. I don't think this is quite right. I have never had an issue bringing beer into the stands to watch football. Perhaps he meant to say the student section doesn't allow beer. dmksioux
I find this a bit amusing. First some legislatures want to ban alcohol from sporting events because of possible exposure to minors and the message it would send. Now they have passed a bill allowing minors into bars that serve food. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/192779
SIOUXPR
They don't want to ban alcohol at sporting events because they "didn’t feel the Legislature needed to get involved in issues that the universities seem able to handle on their own." Yet they feel just fine advancing though committee a bill to limit a universities power to retire its own nickname. Who voted for these gut-less pukes.
