dakotadan Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Gettin this goin a little late. I was hoping to make it up to this game as I figured it would be a good one but had obligations I couldn't get out of. 16:52 to go in the game. UND just took the lead for the first time in the game. UMKC 35 UND 37 Quote
dakotadan Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 Some background on UMKC: The Kangaroos were picked to finsih 9th out of the 10 team Summit League. They are undefeated so far this year with wins over Bethel College (exh), Truman State and Lincoln University. UMKC will next play at Nebraska on Tuesday. Quote
gfhockey Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Freshman dont look too bad... Need ALOT of fine tuning though Quote
dakotadan Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 1:00 left! UMKC 61 UND 57 Sioux ball. Quote
coachdags Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Sioux Men played hard, but not very smart...? 1st half they shoot a incredible 10-14, but have 11 turnovers....? 2nd Half came out with better intensity and grabbed the lead, but missed at least 5 layups and the turnovers continued... Can not critize their lack of effort, it was there, but they need to be smarter and hold on to the damn ball.... Enjoyable Game to watch, but the wrong team ...Won Quote

The first 10 minutes was horrible to watch, but afterward the Sioux showed some promise. Bunch of careless turnovers. UMKC was much more athletic and seemed to have some good young players too. Would like to see this team with Bledsoe, Mitchell, and Wilmer back. Quote

Box Score... http://www.fightingsioux.com/downloads1/36...DB_OEM_ID=13500 You can not have the point gaurd 5-TO/2Asst line, 19 TO for the team compared to 4 for UMKC... The Sioux shoot well enough to win any game they play 60%, but you can not give the ball away... I would hope the TB would make a difference being a Senior, but DM is a Senior also... To DM Credit he was our only aggressive offensive weapon at many times in this game... Quote
bincitysioux Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Yeah, entertaining game, looks like there is some talent there. I think with a healthy Bledsoe and Mitchell we win this game. This team is obviously especially young, but too many turnovers seem to always be an early season theme for North Dakota. Since Jones has been here, UND has finished each season on the wrong end of the Turnover Margin. I thought Goodman, Haugen, and Clausen all looked good. I also thought Mathison played well in the few minutes he was in. He looks to be in alot better shape, and moved around alot quicker. Quote
