I agree with most of the awards. I think Most Improved should have gone to either Brad Miller or Darcy Zajac. Both stepped up their games big time. Darcy still didn't have huge numbers but made some great plays down the stretch, improved his speed drastically, and was stuck on a checking line (which did it's job great). Brad was no where near the same player he was the previous 3, and in a good way. I think we can all agree on that.

I agree with Zajac he doesn't get enough credit for his defensive prowess. Also, I don't think UND has lost a game when he was scored a goal.

I don't really think it's our place to say who should get what award because we are on the outside and we don't see the progress made by certain players day in and day out like those on the inside do. I do respect everyone's opinions but I, personally, don't think it's my place to say. I mean, last year Brent Davidson was voted most improved and he didn't play in very many games last year so we didn't get to see that really, until perhaps, this season. I agree though that Zajac and Miller both made significant strides this year and deserve a lot of credit for their improved play, but I don't want to take anything away from the improvement of Ben Blood either. I think a lot of players made great strides this year so I'm sure it's hard to pick one...

My comment was in no way related to Blood's performance, but as a freshman it's expected that he improves over the course of the year. But as a junior or senior, the strides that Zajac and Miller made were way above-average, in my opinion, compared to other players making the same transitions. Blood did greatly improve and he was counted on down the stretch, and in no way did he disappoint.

I think Walski as the Unsung hero stands out to me.

Every good Sioux team (NC or not) has had a player like Walski on it. Others I can think of are Lee Marvin, Scott Foyt, and for some reason I can't remember any more. ARGH!

Well, anyways, it doesn't have to be someone who doesn't play much (I think Porter and Fabian were examples of those with lots of playing time).

My question is, who is going to step in and fill those shoes (playing time or otherwise)?

Is it going to be Harrington? Davidson? I'm intrigued to see who it is.

I honestly think if Davidson is given the chance to play on a regular basis we will see him show his talents. It's pretty hard to be consistent when you only play every 3rd or 4th game. He's big he can hit and he can score goals. As for Harington I can't say. Have never seen the kid in any game yet so it's pretty hard to say what he can do.

I would like to see what Harrington can do as well... You kind of wonder if he is just going to be another 4 year practice goalie.

I think #1fan and Goon missed my point.

My point didn't have anything to do with on-ice play. I think what Walski brought to the team (like Foyt as well) wasn't on the ice. It was rather what he brought in practice and in the lockerroom and probably out of the arena as well.

Harrington may never play a game at UND. He may. Who knows. I don't know if Walski ever thought he'd play in any games that mattered when he came to UND. I know that no one comes to UND just to be a practice player and never aspire to do otherwise, but realistically, I think what Walski accomplished was far more than I expected he'd do.

To see him get an award was remarkable to me because of that.
