The Sicatoka
The number of home dates are limited. Do you want to add someone who may not fill your barn? (And your home gate revenue > NCAA tourney share.) That's the concern I'm hearing from DU fans.

Goon
Because if we keep losing programs, we will go back to a 12 team NCAA tournament instead of the 16 team field we fought so long to get. Fewer playoff spots mean less $$$ for programs that would otherwise have gotten in. That will mean less times UND goes to the tourney. I don't want that to happen. I've heard there has been some talk of expanding the playoff field to 20 or 24 teams and that will not happen if programs keep dropping. I say turn it into the college football bowl selection method. You basically have to have a season like MTU did this season NOT to make the NCAAs. I like the autobid system and the 16 team field. It gives teams in the AHA a reason to play hard. Looking at college football, look at some of the DIA leagues that aren't the SEC, Big 12, Pac 10, etc. What do they have to play for? Some secondary bowl game that no one really cares about? What's the point? Sure, I find it HIGHLY unlikely that the AHA will make the NC game anytime soon, but at least they have a shot. Not sure I can say the same for teams in other DI sports.
Riverman
Maybe the WCHA should court LSSU and adopt BSU. The Natural Rivals could be: UND-UMD (I like the road trip myself) UM-UW SCSU-MSU-M MTU-LSSU (A new rival is born in the UP) DU-CC UAA-BSU (sorry new team draws the short straw)

Its a failure of their marketing program. They've got fresh NC banners hanging in their barn. Maybe the WCHA should court LSSU and adopt BSU. Most of the CCHA is accessable to them with just a quick bus ride down I-75 for them.

I don't know if I would buy that argument from DU as they have had a very high percentage of sellouts over the past few years. their problem is people just not showing up after they buy the tickets as their arena always looks half empty and the attendance is announced as a sellout.
