Many fans have different takes on what's keeping

the Sioux from greatness. While an improvement

in each area would no doubt make us very strong,

I'd like to hear what area is most deficient.

I know this topic is discussed ad nauseum, but I

wanted to start this poll so other threads can

remain true to their theme & undiluted.

Maybe Blais, Inc. does listen to his fans & checks

this site when not fishing ;)

Your feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

Goaltending. But also, the class of 2005 needs to arrive. Some of them have shown flashes of being great only a few have really contributed, Bochenski, Massen, Jones, McMahn, Fuhr, Schnider have been the biggest contributers. However, they need to step up and make some more noise.

Agreed, Goon.

The recruits of '01-02 were fantastic on paper, but have been a disappointment overall to date. Some good individual numbers from Bo & Schneider, in particular, but some very poor numbers from others, not to mention the departure of Fornier.

Massen needs to use his size to create more garbage goals and crash the net more often. Canady & Connelly need to take their game to the college level. Its time for that recruiting class to show their stuff.

Fournier - head case, left program

Bochenski - What more can you ask for?

Massen - could become a more dependable scorer

McMahon - great face-off guy, good checking line center, good role-player

Canady - need to see him step up, not make mental mistakes, score a few goals

Connelly - good effort but needs consistency, use speed to score goals

Faul - not talented enought to crack the lineup, left the program

Jones - great mobility, good technique, rarely makes mistakes

Fuher - Good mobility, good technique, rarely makes mistakes, good shot

Schneider - Good physical player, good mobility, rare mistakes, good shot

Brandt - needs to be good consistently instead of in flashes

Siembida - could not find his game at the d1 level, left program

Forwards

3 of 7 forwards are consistent performers

2 of 7 forwards were below grade

2 of 7 have a chance to make the grade

Grade C

Defensemen

3 very good, solid performers. Core of a strong defense.

Grade A

Goal Tenders

1 below grade

1 average with chance to make the grade

Grade D

So Siembida left the team? When did this happen?

Are Sofie & Ranfranz still here?

Thanks for the news...

They are for now, but look for them to be gone by the end of Pre season. Really honestly you can't expect Blaiser to keep 5 goalies. Three is a good number...

Thanks, Goon, but when did Siembida's departure

become official?

This article on Ziegelman's signing lists the returning goalies. Siembida is not among them. Seems that a I remember another GFH article concerning goalies that stated Siembida had left school (or maybe it was a student poster here)? Other than that, I don't think we've seen anything official (a GFH article isn't official, is it?).

Actually it was in the Heraldo this spring. I just don't remeber the date.

Thanks, gentlemen, for responding in a timely

manner. Some Sioux fans had grilled Siembida

so much during the season that I thought there

would have been a ticker-tape parade when he

left (that's why I was surprised he was gone

because I didn't see any partying on this board).

There was quite a thread about him, actually. Not sure if the thread still exists.... not enough time to dig it out.

I found it interesting that in many cases (though not all) it started out flaming Josh hardcore and kind of dwindled down into thoughtful pondering.

I haven't seen or heard anything about Josh myself, but even so, if I were him, I'd transfer to a DIII school, but alas I repeat myself.
