Stuff happens I guess. Even the Gophers aren’t immune to stinkers once in a while. They too got humbled tonight on the road at Notre Dame, 6-1. Let’s turn the page on this turd of a game and come back strong tomorrow. Goodnight everybody.

Why would we compare ourselves to the Gophers ? If there is one other team that is just as good at choking if not worse it is the Minnesota Golden Chokers!

No one is arguing about the last 25-30 years.  It's about the way things have gone the last seven or so.  The regular season titles are nice, but this team vastly underperforms later in the season under Berry since the title team of Hak's recruits.

At least with Hak we made it to frozen fours to then get devastated by losses…

It's one loss right now, but the story has been played out most other seasons.  It's a compiling list of odd losses by Berry teams late in the season over a long stretch of seasons.  If you look at the big picture, the program is underperforming for our status in the hockey world.  Blue chip recruits don't want to play here anymore.  Big media heads seldom talk about us anymore and we have the best facilities in the country, arguably the greatest college hockey history in the country, the best fans, etc...  Yet everyone is okay with the lower standard Berry has set compared to his predecessors.

Blue chips don’t seem to be an issue this year and in future years. I do agree it was an issue in past years.

In the last 25-30 years we’re (at the very least) a top 1-3 team in the country…a top program. US hockey is booming and so hockey. Other programs are starting to pull in blue chip too (some much better). But there is no other team really winning more than us. Other tops programs lose too. Goofs got beat up tonight.

So the expectations are no longer to be the top program in the country every year to just being one of the best? Might as well pack it in and go home at that point.

At this point it's hard to argue that either SU program or Montana are not a step higher than UND in on field performance or coaching salary.

No reason to leave for a FCS school unless it comes with a big salary bump. None of the coaches who left don’t have a good thing going

I highly doubt Luke would have even interviewed. Why take a lateral move when it's only a 1 year guarantee. Idaho is thought of in higher regard right now than UND, unfortunately. Now if Luke saw it as a move that could get him promoted to UND HC in short order, then maybe he would have considered it.

Luke will be a target when bubba is gone. Might be why Danny left too as Luke could be his top competitor for the HC job. I just wish we would hire Luke now and can bubba before this next season’s starts!

    DEI

Our so called DEI hires are the ones who keep getting sniped for better opportunities. No one wants our white coaches outside of Pawlak and Danny

    Yall really missing the point:

Bubba has appeared to really be hiring some highly recruited offensive coordinators lately.

No reason to think he can't do it again.

Much harder to do with a lame duck contract

I believe the only reason Joe's name gets brought up is because he played for NDSU coach when he was at Iowa, so there is maybe some connection there. Not saying Joe wouldn't be a good OC but with no play calling experience its a stretch. And I would hate to see him leave. UND's Oline play is night and day difference since him coming here.

UND’s oline doesn’t have many questions or hole going into 2024. NDSU on the other hand……. They had to find their next center in the portal

Persson and Blake both silencing any haters/doubters. Also going 2/3 on the PP in their barn feels so good.

I want Blake to score 2 goals every game and back check hard on every play with no bad turnovers. This would win titles, we should all want that!

I was shocked to hear Berry in the post game interview mention that Ness didn’t get a single shift in the first period and then comes out in the second period on his first shift of the game and scores a goal. Given how lackadaisical the team looked in the first, I’m kinda surprised he wasn’t inserted at least a shift or two as the first period progressed, just to see if he could’ve added some much needed juice.

Berry has no balls to sit the blue chippas , not sure if he is just stubborn or scared to lose the guys to the NHL.

Kind of a bizarre season. PWR #7. Second place in the conference. Zero losses in regulation since early November. Yet sometimes it feels like the wheels are falling off.

Because if we play like that in the playoffs it’s going to be another early exit for the Sioux. Writing is on the wall
