Again, UND played the top offense in the country. They're number one for a reason. We might want to give DU some credit. I also think the Mile High City wore them down in the third period. I thought both teams had trouble at times. This was No. 2 vs. No. 3. I thought it was a good weekend of hockey. -- I think we thought anything less than a split was unacceptable.

DU is good as usual. We did lose steam in the second and third periods. It was almost like we couldn’t wait for the game to end.

You realize we got swept in Denver in 2016 by 4-1 and 6-4.  It goes without saying you better play good defense at the right time of year, but in a one and done your goalie can’t have an off game either.

This is no doubt the best team I’ve seen since 2016. I’m just tired of hyping up these teams for them to lose in the playoffs.

UND is #6 in the country at 2.2 ga/g.  ;)

I can’t unsee what I saw this weekend. If we play defensively like that in the playoffs we are toast. And when I say defensively I mean the forwards and defense playing when we don’t have the puck. No shutdown defense like 2016. I do like these goal scorers though

You're kidding, right? UND is one of the top defensive teams in the country and went head-to-head with the top offensive team in the country.

Let me clear that up a bit. Defensive skills suck, those turnovers could have got us swept this weekend. Lucky we have an offense that can make it up.

Top 6 in the country in goals against having played one of the tougher schedules, compared to a team that simply couldn’t get off the field, that is quite the odd statement.

turn over the puck like that against good teams and you can see what will happen against top teams. Good thing our goalie is a stud.

good thing is the bad turnovers is about all this team needs to do to fix in order to be the favorite for a title. Offense is as good or better than 2016.

Hopefully Montana can take them down.  The thing about the game today is Mellot seems to get hurt a lot.    And it shows.

That’s running QBs for you, better have 2 or more. He showed why they have his type of QB on that 70 yard run

After the NDSU-UND game earlier this season, which team got was coached up and has gotten much better and which team got worse?

The NDSU mean little when we are sitting at home while NDSU advances. The dynasty is far from over.

their game at USD will be much easier next week. Bison in the semis once again and in one of their worst seasons

That didn’t play a snap this past year

does this indicate 1 qb is leaving?

No I think they wanted to add a guy for depth/ scout team. Maybe get Romfo some brockstar type of position in that he can’t run scout team. Feeney and Kaminski will be QB1 and QB2 all year. Doesn’t hurt to bring in any talented PWO. A smidge taller Schuster

I think Ben was among the best transfers we brought in. I feel he is a bit undersized for a DE but made up for it often times with motor. That being said progression is required in the trenches and guys that are 25 to 30lbs heavier but just as athletic as he is, is what we are looking for. 275 to 280. I hope Ben lands on his feet.

I wouldn’t say he is undersized. He was the best DE we had on the team. The defense wasn’t playing well since he got hurt. This one will have a huge effect on next year unfortunately.

Well that isn’t good. Is the locker room that bad?

Ben transferring hits the most out of all of them. Why it hurts the most is the defense needs all the help they can get and quality depth isn’t there. He was one of the best players on the field before he got hurt. Not sure he goes FBS going into the transfer portal injured.

Possible, but I think another FCS school is more likely. I'm sure there are some schools out there that need an experienced guy to bridge them a year while they develop a younger guys. Or someone to create a QB competition with a current started who isn't very good.

Tommy isn't going power 5 (even that would be super cool!), but there could even be some MAC schools that would give a guy with his experience and numbers a look. I get there are plenty out there who think he was mediocre across the board, but his numbers don't lie either. He may not have all of the measurables that some kids do, but he did a ton for UND. Personally, I think our deficiencies have more to do with poor situational play calling, but that's just me.

I would think Tommy's landing spot will also heavily depend on school programs and location. Some in Michigan or Illinois?? E Illinois, W Illinois (moving conference)?? E Michigan? I really have no clue what type of QB situations those schools have right now. Or maybe he will go D2 route. I suppose it depends how much does he want to play vs get some more scholly money and schooling.

Did we play any teams this year with a poor QB in need of replacement?
