Pipe was only a year old.
This is just one. There's many.
Non union non qualified welders. What do you expect when you don't follow the law? DAPL is hiring the best people in the Industry. You get what you pay for. The regulations are there for a reason. If followed there will be no deficiencies.

Recently installed pipelines have already leaked.
Manufacturing error of the pipline and or human errors on welds.
Which ones? I'm sure it's only been one or two over the last 20 years on newer pipelines. These exceptions should not represent all pipelines.

You might be right, but never is a hell of a long time and history is replete with examples of engineering marvels that failed. The Titanic is an example that comes to mind. There are also plenty of examples of pipeline failures.
You are completely right about past failures. The technology back in the day is no where near where today's is. This is why you are seeing so many new pipelines being installed so that companies don't have to deal with all the issues on the old ones.
this pipeline will have everything it needs to last 200 years with no issues

Where is the pregame post game UND parties after the game if any?

Ah, I am not so sure about that...
How am I wrong then? Don't say I'm wrong without telling me why. I would like to debate the facts if possible....

The pore space of sand is typically about 25%, while the pore space in clay is about 40%, which might seems counterintuitive. It is the degree of interconnectedness of the pore spaces that determines the material's transmissivity, and sand is more transmissive than clay. Below the river 90 feet you will find sand. Below that sand in the area we are talking about you will get into silty, clayey formations like the Hell Creek Formation. Below the river you have essentially 100% saturation so the oil, being lighter than and immiscible with water, moves upward. Now beneath a reservoir groundwater movement is downward, but the density gradient between the oil and the water will trump the hydraulic gradient.
And yes, I am a hydrogeologist.
The pipeline will not leak so this conversation is a non issue. The pipe, welds, coating are all inspected before installing it. Cathodic protection will protect the pipe from corroding. Inline inspections will catch any issue before it leaks.

The protesters are not exclusively Sioux tribal members but many are from all the tribes that have been affected over the years. You mention what I believe was a language tie to the Sioux called the Siouan Language which is spoken by the Mandan, Hidatsa, not sure of the Arikara, and a number of other tribes. I first was introduced to this by a professor at the University of North Dakota named Art Raymond who I believe at the time was writing a dictionary of the language. I do not know the exact make-up and number of the protesters as to which tribes they belong to, however the water involved potentially affects a large amount of the United States. The question I have for my home state is… how has the oil cleanup of the Williston Basin progressed and are we relying on the similar type of government rules and government oversight to move the oil without additional damage to North Dakota and to the water that flows from North Dakota to other parts of the country?
You realize they already installed the same pipeline across the Missouri near Williston. There is no harm in installing this pipeline. Do you know how many pipelines are installed across rivers in the US? Thousands

So Dalrymple is going to use military and police forces to attack, beat and arrest unarmed women and children to protect his personal investment in this pipeline. I guess we can officially start referring to the state of ND as a third world petro state.
The state must protect the legal right to construct the pipeline. These people are breaking the law to try to stop this pipeline. The pipeline has been legally approved and upheld in he courts. These people are not protesters, they are riotors. Their classification changed when they started to break the law.
the state of North Dakota needs this pipeline so that our oil can be shipped cheaper and be more competitive on the world market. We need this for our economy and the people who work in the Industry. When it is started up the rail oil volumes will crash to close to nothing. Now you know why Obama and Hillary are trying to block it so they can protect thier big donor Buffet. I'm done with this corruption so I'm voting for TRUMP

I don't see how our schedule is considered weak. The last 3 weeks will be a battle. Northern Arizona was considered a cupcake until they dominated Montana.....

My son has been down for both Junior Day and Homecoming. He loves the coaches and is excited with the prospect of playing for the Fighting Hawks. He's a DB/KR from Winnipeg. Take a peak at his tape below.

Don't forget us Canadians!
I like prospects that are excited to have an opportunity to become part of the UND community! Whether he gets an offer, PWO, or tries to walk on, UND is a great place to get a degree and excel in life. Players with dedication are the kinds of men he wants in his football family.

The penalty shot looked weak on slow motion replay but in real speed it looked like the slash may have caused his shot to go off course. Either way the refs would be criticized. The player should not have slashed him and then there would be no call.
maybe fitz was still a little loopy after the big hit

top plays of the week, check out week 5&7 !

That shows the value in having our games broadcasted by a quality outlet. It's good to see people are paying attention! Now if only all road games could be on midco HD!

Why keep any of the sports on the chopping block? No one comes to UND because of any of those sports other than the athletes themselves. Yeah these decisions are tough and can affect some student athletes but they need to be made to keep the financial health of the athletic department. We should not be keeping these sports by raising prices of other team tickets or by asking for more state funding.
these sports are a waste of money and we need to cut the fat! There is no return on investment.

no way the bison student would ever chant this. They are above UND, no one cares about the rivalry anymore....

Stony Brook is now ranked in the STATS poll = quality loss !
-
None of the remaining games will be easy wins. Our schedule may be easier with out UM or Eastern Washington but that doesn't mean the rest of the big sky are cupcake opponents. Has anyone seen the schedules for some teams out east?
If we are the fourth ranked big sky team at 7-4 at the end of the season I think we would still get in.
-
Defense kept us consistent last year and in my opinion gave the offense he opportunity to win us the important games. A great defense can make sub or goaltending look great. Good thing we have cam in net.
-
If Santiago is unstoppable then yes run him as much as possible but if can't get it going consistently then we need to rotate the backs and keep them fresh. we have so much talent in the backfield we need to put each of them in position to make defenses pay.
also how do we know Conner is ok after that hit to the head? Any confirmation that he is ok?

I challenge someone to explain why the sport is considered boring and if you use physicality please explain to me how UND minny games are more physical than some mens games and how its ok to cut a sport just cause you dont like it.. some folks in atlantic hockey prefer football yet some of those schools still have hockey
The games are so slow and not as much skill as the men. If I wanted to watch less talented hockey I would go to high school games. Most Bantam A teams could beat women's hockey teams.
you must not watch NHL games if you think women's games are more physical.
i rather watch women's bball or volleyball 1000 times more

So boring. I rather watch paint dry.

Great win Hawks! Keep the improvement up and watch this team grow. I really want to be traveling to GF this December for something not hockey related!

Many of those releases were very small and we're contained in the facility. the one in SD was unfortunate because that defective weld should have been caught by the inspection.
Sunoco owns just a part of DAPL. It is being built with the best workers money can buy. This is why public service commissions need to ensure that companies use the best worker before approving the pipeline.
