Someone owns RoughRiders also, and he's a UND guy (see: USHL Cedar Rapids).
this is probably one of the biggest hurdles. Doesn't he own the trademark for hockey?

UND has a good defense and yesterday happens to all teams, check Indiana State game for the Bison a couple of years ago.
Can UND win? Sure they can. The defense would have to consistently make NDSU go 3 and out and give the UND offense good field position. If UND cannot run the ball next Saturday then it will be a very long day for them. If NDSU cannot get a decent pass run and lets KS to throw the ball all over the field, then the Bison are in for a long day.
UND cannot win this game just with its defense, the offense needs to move the ball and score or at least turn the field over for good field position for the defense. UND will stack the box and try to stop the run but with a healthy CW it is dangerous to do. The Bison have seen 3-4 defenses in the Valley so that will not be a huge factor IMO. But Bubba teams have their own unique schemes with that, so it will be an interesting chess match.
After watching the 2nd half of the Drake game, UND's OL better play a lot better on Saturday. More than likely they will.
Keys for NDSU:
Play sound Tampa-2 defense. Better pass rush is a must.
Run the ball. UND will try like hell to stop the run but that is what NDSU does and they need to do it to win.
Better special teams coverage.
Keys for UND:
No turnovers....period.
Keep the crowd out of the game by sustaining drives and scoring TDs.
Hold the edge to keep the off tackle runs, play action and roll out passes from hurting the defense.
Sound tackling. Morlock does not go down on first contact. I'm sure he will be used a lot and UND needs to account for him.
Personally, I think NDSU should win this game. UND's defense is there right now. They are a very good FCS defense. I just don't think the offense has it right now to win games consistently against upper level FCS teams. But that is why they play the game.
Bubba is so far above Mussman.
I agree with this. I really hope they show up next weekend. I don't know how we should have had a 28-0 lead to almost blowing it in the 2nd half. Hopefully it was all mental prep that can be fixed.

It's pretty hard for a team to "rest on its laurels" as it hangs its fourth consecutive championship banner. At any rate, it's obviously not a "rough time" for NDSU, as your post stated, regardless of the outcome of this game. When the game is over, NDSU will still be the 4 time defending national champ, and UND will still have had more losing seasons in the five (now six) years than NDSU has had in the last fifty.

Jacks win. Kansas blew it in the first half and then did it again on the last play of the game. Tough to be that QB . I can't wait to watch the UNI game and the Oregon game. I love the first week of college football and the rivalry games!

I'm pretty sure the NCAA is going to further sanction UND if fans do not adopt the new logo that is chosen now that ND is not an option. How could they allow such hostile and abusive jerseys and chants to be donned in the Ralph and accross the country.?

well Stanford did pick a lame color and a tree for a logo and nickname. I would say this is as bad as not picking one at all. You don't hear anything but Stanford when you hear about.... Stanford.
why are you still on this forum spreading a bunch of fear? Are you president Kelley? You people are really digging deep to say that the NCAA will sanction UND further for the fans expressing their first amendment right.

I would love to see the ncaa take on UND and tell them they must adopt a mascot. Until this happens I see no reason to disallow ND as a nickname. Let's say they do sanction us again we will at least know what the number 2 vote getter was and we can adopt that and bow down to the almighty NCAA

Let me know when there is some actual measure that has any sort of creditability released. The survey done by UND last year gathering people's input was the closest I've seen (and is nowhere near qualifying). The results showed the clear majority was ready to move on to a new nickname. In the latest poll, the majority of students either didn't feel strong enough one way or another to bother to vote or they just don't care.
Yeah, I'm sure they are the ones who would suffer. Why not toss more money at this dumpster fire that was lost long ago and live under sanctions while continuing to look like a bunch of clowns?
when I was in college I would never check my email in the summer. If a student wasn't glued to the news or social media then they may have not seen the survey in time. This was actually a good turnout for the student body who normally do not show up in huge numbers for student government elections.

The main driver in profitability for these kind of plants is the cost of natural gas which is still low. It is assumed that where you put this plant it will have cheap water available. Once you have to get water from a pipeline from Bismarck your competitors have the advantage. If there was a lake nearby that was blocked from use that could be the reason for the cancellation. CHS has invested a ton of money on granular fertilizer storage around the state so they had to get fertilizer from someone plus CF is the leader in production. I'm glad I didn't apply for a job at the plant! I don't think over supply would be an issue with all the surrounding states that would use this fertilizer

So what would happen if UND adopted a new nickname and that fans refused to use it? Even with a new nickname you will see a ton of sioux jerseys in every crowd and saying sioux after the national anthem will not go away.
what is the ncaa going to do about that? Sanction UND because the fans won't adopt a new nickname? I'm tire of hearing all this nonsense out of the administration. I can't wait til Kelley leaves. He did have some questionable statements at the summer commencement.

FYI---this past May at the walleye opener at Millacs I ran in to a former player who was kicked off the team after Bohl laid down the no tolerance speech. He and a couple of other players went out and got a little rowdy after having a few. The next day they were gone.
Its easy to cherry pick scenarios if one wants. But one must remember all punishments dont always end up in the news.

They are dirt cheap because there is no demand. Saves us some money to pay for overpriced beer. One day it won't be so easy to get a ticket
