Looks like he likes to finish his blocks and plays up to the whistle, but not in a dirty way, and enjoys putting the defender on the ground. Looks like he has the frame to put on some more weight too. Nice to get some early commits!

Nice knowing that Danny is going to try and work to his players strengths, game plan around it, and capitalize on them. Sometimes I wonder how we even got decent recruits at a few offensive positions given our offense. New Chapter now though, get it done Danny!

I think we will still be ok at RB this year and I don't think the sky is falling. McKinney will certainly be a little better fit at RB in this offense than last year, however I still have concerns that he is a bit small to be the #1 back or featured back. However i think he should still get 10-15 touches a game in some fashion. Once Gordon gets back in the groove of the RB position I think he is going to impress. I think Gordon, JJ, and McKinney can all split reps pretty evenly. I'd probably prefer to start the game with Gordon and JJ, then mix McKinney in. Obviously once we get started we'll see which back seems to fit best in the new offense. God forbid if the first three are all hurt at the same time, we still have 3 RB's. Certainly would like to not have to pull the redshirt on Skokna, but he will be able to play 4 games. We haven't really seen Sherva and Gee in live action at UND, so hard to be 100% sure how well they would perform. Weah would have gotten a lot of touches this year no doubt, and helped, but it is what it is. I'm not going to sit and moan and blame everything on the coaches if the kid didn't pull his weight on the academics. Hope he gets it figured out though and is eligible for next year, but am not going to completely hold my breathe either. Gordon - 1A JJ - 1B McKinney - 1C Sherva - seems servicable Dalton Gee - transfer Skokna - Can play 4 games without burning his redshirt.

I think Gordon is a pretty darn good RB and just never had a chance behind Brady and John. We will see how good he is this year, and i think we will find out he is pretty good! Isn't Johanneson like the all time record holder in ND, or something like that. The freshman coming in this year is supposedly really good. McKinney is good. Weah definitely would have contributed a lot this year, but even without him I think we will be formidable at RB and I don't think RB is our problem. I'm really looking forward to what our RB's are going to do in a more diverse offense this year.

Dang, too bad he wasn't with them again this year, would have really given us a reason to watch the Bombers with 3 guys playing. Looking forward to trying to check out some of Brady and John playing though.

I know they can obviously sign non Canadians, like Dressler, but for the draft is it only Canadians that can be drafted or can they draft anybody?

I still love that 1 yard TD run against Wyoming where he made the defender eat air in the backfield. The entire game was a breakout game for John, but seeing how easily he made that guy miss.........you knew he was going to be something special.

Let's hope so, because even if we just go toe-to-toe with UNI.....that will likely get us in the playoffs by itself!

No doubt! While there were some good things about being in the Big Sky, playing all of the Dakota schools every year and other teams in the region is going to be nice. Between what hopefully should be a better more exciting offense, an improved team, and schedules like this.....our attendance should definitely be increasing from what it was. Still gotta get those wins though to continually get butts in the seats!

7-4 would 99% get us into the playoffs with the schedule we have in 2019. The 1% is if all the top teams we are scheduled to play crap the bed all year unexpectedly. Heck if we beat NAU at the end of the year last year it sounds like the committee was going to put us in at 7-4, and our schedule wasn't that tough last year. And yes absolutely every year we should be expecting to make the playoffs going forward.

An added benefit of our new offense is it will help our defense when we play teams like Weber, Eastern Washington etc.. They will be used to seeing a lot more misdirection and things going on, other than run up the middle, toss left or right, pass to Wanzek. And we run some up tempo on offense in practice too which will help. I'm ok during games being slow and deliberate to burn clock against teams like EWU. To me you can still be a ball control team without having to be ground and pound up the middle, you just need to move the chains consistently. Move the chains, take your time in the huddle....you can still give your defense a rest and keep the other potent offense off the field.

I could be wrong, but haven't you said in the past that having new, flashy or cool uniforms is important for recruiting? Or maybe that was Geausioux. I'd rather have a fun atmosphere as a recruit over flashy uniforms. I'm ok not keeping score and what not for the spring game, but I remember when Nevermann made that one move in a drill in spring practice that got people all excited. From the sounds of it the general opinion is that the spring game this year was extra boring. It really wouldn't take too much to make it a little more exciting. I was looking forward to it being streamed, but maybe with the new offense this year they purposely didn't stream it? We have a pretty big game the second game of the year, might be able to show a few things in that game that we won't show verses Drake.

Really....well that completely blows!! So in essence we are taking a step backwards this year......by not streaming it, great. There has been such little chat this spring practice....was at least looking forward to the last practice/scrimmage being streamed. Hoping they still might come up with something. Well at least we had two pages today of arguing over where to hold spring ball....and the difference between silver and grey.

I think if they are able to add a white helmet at some point, the grey jerseys and white helmet could look really good. The grey jerseys as they are right now though, I agree with you. They wear the grey jerseys a fair amount, I wonder if the players like them for some reason? It seems like they almost wear them more than the green.

Is Izzy going to be 100% come this fall? Is he practicing in spring practice? Danny didn't even mention him when talking about the WR's.

You think they'd be doing that already now though wouldn't you? I mean whomever is going to switch would need some time to make that adjustment I'd think.

We seem to have pretty good depth now at almost every position but NG. They knew a year ago at this time we were losing two of your NG's and did nothing. I'd love to give the staff the benefit of the doubt....but I have a feeling we are going to get pushed around all year up the middle and it's going to hurt us. I sure hope I'm wrong.
