could we be trying too hard ? I did not think UNH was all that good but they were consistant & all lines played their positions well & they never gave up maybe for awhile in the second period they looked very good while we seem to be up & down & then trying to get it going - when our best players are about burnt out I don't sense they are really enjoying it or feel confident & to be honest are just not that dominate I know "speed Kills" but can you be in too big of a hurry ? - faster than your skill level ? maybe speed should increase as skills increase or the right combos are found - other teams are not so slow, but not playing in such a state of recklessness & missed opportunities & instead of many missed opportunities -capitalize on the fewer good ones ? ? ?

well said siouxcia & sioux_xuois you are comparing apples & oranges & just don't get or want to hear the positive side of this. Like most of the negative minority, of those that are against the Sioux name. I dislike the posts about all thats wrong with reservations (but many show the negativity of what I think is a minority of people there) - Means just happened to bring this up at a time we are preparing to send a high profile delagation to the two reservations. I really do think most would like to finally find ways to really Help or Change the enviroments on reservations - I'm hoping UND can be a part of this & Win the support of the majority on reservations - Not just appease the negative minority - Maybe there is hope the majority can find a way to tell the negatives to see the light or get out of the way Are there any current studies on what is wrong & what could be done different, in turning reservations around ? The Federal Gov. does not seem to have any good solutions I hope the State board really gives this their best effort............... & not just one last feeble attempt to ask the negatives to use their past name If not - then I'm in the camp to move on (& yes I may be bitter the rest of my life) It seems more & more the Sioux we were proud of lived here over 100 yrs ago

All this got me thinking ........... Has any State ever revoked or can a Governor revoke the ability of Native Americans to operate Casinos ? I would guess not on a Reservation ? (& are Reservations owned by the Tribes or the US Government ?) So why do so many Tribes try to build Casinos off their Reservation, nearer to major cities ? & is all the aid given to Reservations part of past treaties ? (I don't doubt a lot of these treaties were broken in the past) Whatever became of the Lawsuit that Spirit Lake had - Saying they owned all of Devils Lake ? - Not to mention the lawsuit over ownership of the Black Hills ? Plus other lawsuits about broken treaties ? I'd guess they (tribes are so fragmented & looking out for their own concerns, that they can no longer, as a whole, spend the $$$ to right so many of their perceived wrongs ? ? ? I'm not defending Means - But as more lines get drawn. I wonder where all these things are headed ? It seems as Casinos got more popular & lets face it - it's not the Tribes people who make them successful - that most learn to live in peace with their neighbors. Is a Pact different than a Treaty ?
