I would definitely put the first game at the Ralph vs. the gophs in the list for 3 worst along with the 6-0 whooping mentioned earlier and this year against bemidji st. Honorable mention would be Maine beating us something like 5-1 at home one year. Three best that I've personally attended were the 6-1 beat down to complete the sweep of the gophs in '09 when they were #3 and we were not ranked, the season opener against Michigan St. when they were coming off their natty season and we beat them 6-0, and last weekends game against providence.

The Athletics that were on Sportscenter last night. Don't get a headache Mamba. I'm not saying the A's are Original. I'm saying the Athletics and Originals are both unambiguous names that get abbreviated to a letter

How about the University of North Dakota Originals. Honors the states settlers and notates that we are the original university of the state. Inspired by the Oakland athletics, yes I have been drinking. Just a thought

Anybody watch the prospects game last night? How did Evers look?

It's nothing personal towards Dillon, all Oilers fans must take out their anger somehow before they cry themselves to sleep while clutching their Wayne Gretzky photograph

That would be a fantastic game intro, even better than Phil Collins

We should be the Chris Hansons

The North Dakota P-Wolves...

Wolves would be a cool name but they have nothing to do with ND. Might as well be the Dingos

http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/72995-university-of-north-dakota-nokotas/?hl=nokota He did this in 2010. I like the concept better than the emo-horse that is probably wearing girl pants.

That problem extends far past the world of nicknames. It's gettin cray fo sho

Wait until we are the Blizzard and tell me again how there is nothing worse. I can already see the football helmets...."Blizz"

His original idea I think has enormous potential. I wish he would have build off this line of thinking a little but more. http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/72995-university-of-north-dakota-nokotas/?hl=nokota

Wind the clock back 85 years and you would probably think the Fighting Sioux is stupid because it sounds like "Sue." The reviews on this website were positive. http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/98241-north-dakota-rebrand-update-jersey-mock-ups/

There's no Yeti in existence let alone in North Dakota, yet there are teams who use it as a nickname. The Nokota horse is our state horse and nobody has used it as a nickname. I guess a nickname means different things to different people but I think a wild horse is a moniker that can proudly represent an academic institution. A Yeti seems like more of a gimmick, even if it is a cool name.

There are already mavs to the south and to the east that we compete against. Since they are our enemies, maybe we should be the "Ice Men"?
-
It's our state horse, and a logo would make it obvious what it is. Outside of the midwest, the majority of people probably wouldn't know what Sioux are either. I would rather have a name that people haven't heard of than a name that is used by hundreds of other schools or teams (cowboys, eagles, tigers). I don't mind Mustangs but it would almost fall into the generic category as well.

Just got word that Nicholas Cage has become a collegiate ice hockey referee! http://www.uscho.com/

I'm too young for Kevin Bacon references

Nokota is the perfect name. Go Nokes
-
Reminds me of Mazzocco's quote during the final five "The precision machine strikes again!" That name is way too generic though.

Ha I'm not trying to be but that is just all I know. I talked to one of the alums who got selected yesterday so that's where this is coming from. It should be noted that I do not make disparaging remarks about republicans
