I love Hugo ads. My second year at UND, I moved off-camps and just up the street 1st Avenue North and South Washington had a Hugo’s. I talked to a very old man stocking cans in the right back of the store. Why was such an old man stocking shelves? It was Hugo! And working at the store and shelving was a passion.
Trash coaching move. Gave a lot of rest to their front line players. His reputation is being harmed in my opinion. Other coaches will take note of his manipulations. When I sat in meetings with other coaches, we did like this type of working the refs and trying to tilt the games.
Oh,,,,, their player was held-up. What about the Sioux not only held but 12 yards from the puck. Let Miami hold up players then it is only right they allow both ways.
What can I say about this game other than frustration. It must be the higher altitude in Miami. Yea that explains the difference. That 200 feet is the cause. I am sticking by it.
Early in the game before second goal. Loved the clearing the zone of the puck, when the UND PLAYER went down. To many times UND would try to take it and stick handle backwards allowing opponent to stay in the zone without having to leave to touchup. This time UND pushed the puck forward into the Neutral Zone. Very smart play. This lead to UND challenging for the puck in the neutral zone and caused the Miami team to rush out of the zone.
Last night was a great opportunity to refocus on the reasons players can be the difference on the ice. They know they belong on the ice, and all are important to the success of the team.
The Miami coach played to many games tonight and left me with a negative impression.
Also did anyone go back and review the slasher by Kunz. What is your opinion, Kunz’s stick was grabbed and pulled into the body. The extra time of taking the goalie out, allowed views on the Miami bench to solidify.
